Yes, according to Revelation 12:9 is in connection to Genesis
Powerful angelic Satan used the serpent as a ventriloquist uses his dummy
The serpent just appeared to be talking but Satan was the Puppet Master behind the animal
For all we know, that way Satan could have easily told Eve the Serpent could talk because it was eating forbidden fruit !
Remember: Eve 'saw' (observed) the fruit. Remember the fruit was Not poison but rather breaking the law carried with it the death penalty
I prefer Kukla Fran and Ollie.

Faith-confidence in what we hope for (Hebrews 11)
Not in my opinion.

You obviously can't take the hint that I'm not interested in what you have to say.

Good day.
And why, in that case, should anyone be interested in what you have to say, please tell...in fact, why say it.

Pilate asked ," What is truth ? " but he was speaking about 'truth in general'
Whereas, as I said Jesus taught confidently about 'religious truth' as found in Scripture
Which scripture, the Vedas? the Guru Granth Sahib? the Tao? The Popol Vuh?
Each makes different claims about both physical reality and about values and propriety. The physical claims are concrete, black-or-white claims of reality. The religious claims are nebulous, unfounded and untestable; and they're wildly contradictory in different scriptures. Why should one believe in Heaven but reject Valhalla or Hades? Don't they hold the same level of confidence? Aren't they equally evidenced?
Why should we seek ontological truth in writings replete with demonstrable physical absurdities?
Agree, for many it is what feels good is truth, peer-group truth, team-players group, please authorities group, etc.
Progress in our understanding of the world or is it lack of understanding
For thousands of years we understood the world in their hearts -- but could never agree on anything. Recently a new investigational methodology appeared, and now we're gaining a consensus understanding of actual, physical reality which as proved astonishingly productive and explanatory.
* The world today is like watching a movie after one has read the book *
By ' read the book ' I mean after reading the Bible
Not sure what your point is....
We find No stability in today's world by seeing failing human rulerships
Political activism is Not uniting peoples
We found no stability previously, either, when our hearts were ruled by religious teaching.
Yes. As ling as people insist on fashioning a world according to their preferred scripture there will be no political unity in the world.
Often NEWS is not trusted but rather for some the use of blogs
True. As long as news is judged by the heart, credence will be given to whatever resonates emotionally. If you value actual fact you need to be skeptical, critically analytical, and to fact-check your friends' political claims.
The only global campaign Jesus taught was about God's kingdom government in Jesus' hands for a thousand years- Luke 4:43; Matt. 24:14
What concrete evidence do you have of this?
What Jesus taught is Bad news for the world's understanding including some religious understanding
False clergy are sending living people up in the sky even though Scripture teaches 'flesh' (physical) can't go to Heaven - 1st Cor.15;50
False clergy???
Flight's an attempt to reach Heaven?!
So, just as we are Not designed to 'fly' (without a plane) mankind has proven it can't successfully govern themselves - Jer. 10:23
1st Thess. 5:2-3 will prove true that when " Peace and Security..." is said those rosy-sounding words can lead people down that old primrose path Not to Safety but to the coming great tribulation of Rev. 7:14 before Jesus as King takes the needed action
So what's that got to do with anything?
Were tribal. We're insecure killer apes. We eschew reason and invent values, purpose and commandments to justify our atrocites.

Sorry, but I think you are evading my question. Your answer seems to rest on 'what ifs', assumptions and appeals to references written much later after Genesis.
If you adhere to biblical literalism (and I don't know if you do, by the way), then, to you, the story of a talking snake is true. I would much prefer it if people - when confronted with the obvious scientific impossibilities that appear in the bible - were honest and say that it is a story, an allegory.

Good day.
Good day to you also
You don't have to be interested
Most people aren't interested, but that won't change the fact that the political will surprisingly turn on the religious

Since ALL Scripture is God inspired, then the explanation found at Revelation 12:9 in connection to Genesis stands to reason
The Bible is chock full of corresponding cross-reference verses and passages and within that framework we find a complete picture
From Genesis (Eden) lost to Eden regained - Revelation 22:2 - Satan is the one who 'bites the dust' - Hebrews 2:14 B

You're the one who made the claim about what textbooks supposedly state.
OK, are you saying that what was taught by means of textbooks as true in 1970 is still the same today in textbooks? You might want to do some research starting with Haeckel's theory that has since been negated but was taught as truth not that long ago.

Obviously not. What a strange thing to say. That was over 50 years ago. Why would you expect present day science textbooks to ignore 50 years of scientific progress?

You might want to do some research starting with Haeckel's theory that has since been negated but was taught as truth not that long ago.
So a scientific idea that was once accepted was taught in textbooks, then it was shown to be wrong and following that it no longer is in textbooks.

What's your point?

Are you also going to complain that physics textbooks didn't teach relativity before Einstein came up with it?

Yes, the Bible is full of corresponding cross-references. Could that be because later writers wrote their verses in order to fit the original narrative? Given that it's the supernatural we're dealing with, you could make up any fantastical story you like in order to bolster previous writings and pass it off as a continuation of the word of a god.

However, this could be veering off into a biblical debate, so let's get back to the science.

So. About those chatty serpents....
