May have asked this before, if so I forgot.

Do first impressions count? Once someone thinks a certain way about something, I believe they will not change it, despite any circumstances. What would you say?

I must admit I am quick to let first impressions make me make up my mind about something (or someone), but I always hope (if it is a negative impression) that I will be able to change it.

Sometimes, I have. I guess I am lucky. I've never been too proud to admit I was wrong.:)

Yeah. First impressions are hard to get rid of. At least for me. Like I remember that there were people in grade school who I thought were dumb, who proved me wrong in high school, and I still thought they were dumb my senior year. So that's between 6 and 12 years, and I still relied more on the first impression.

Absolutely! If that first impression is what that person is, then so be it. But if a person has made the wrong first impression, then give them a chance. :)

I try not to let first impressions make the biggest impact of what I think of someone. Things do happen that can make a first impression a bad one when it normally would have been a good one. Or someone who would normally make a bad one is trying to impress people with a good one.

If I get the impression that someone's an idiot on first meeting, it only takes one thought for me to make that judgement. It takes the person proving themself smart several times for me to change that decision. I'd like to be more open to changing the impression, but at least I do change it eventually.

I'd say that getting off the first impression that you want is about as important as attempting to reserve judgement of people until you know them better. It is also a horribly difficult thing to do but of the utmost importance. Well at least it is to me.

I make my first impression ,and make my worst impression...but it leaves me room to improve on my next impression..
I know what ever I do ,people will stereo-type me ....
I tend to test the waters with people .. and I recieve from them, a true first impression....which means little to me anyway..
it shouldnt be that important to anyone to try to impress.
I dont want to meet someone who is acting.....

A good first impression is important at times....ie..job interview..girlfriends dad..
as if ,has anyone made a good first impression with their girlfriends dad?.....
