One Flaw in Women

Draka

Wonder Woman
My best friend got this in an email and I just had to share it

One Flaw In Women
By the time the Lord made woman,

He was into his sixth day of working overtime.

An angel appeared and said,

"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"

And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?

She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,

have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable

and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,

have a lap that can hold four children at one time,

have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart

-and she will do everything

with only two hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements.

"Only two hands!? No way!

And that's just on the standard model?

That's too much work for one day.

Wait until tomorrow to finish."

But I won't," the Lord protested.

"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.

She already heals herself when she is sick

AND can work 18 hour days."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman.

"But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed,

"but I have also made her tough.

You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.

The Lord replied,

"Not only will she be able to think,

she will be able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something,

and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.

"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.

I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak,"

the Lord corrected,

"that's a tear!"

"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,

her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,

her loneliness, her grief and her pride."

The angel was impressed.

"You are a genius, Lord.

You thought of everything!

Woman is truly amazing."

And she is!

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness,

love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideals.

They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

PLEASE remind the women you know just how amazing they are.

That was simply incredibly beautiful, Draka. Thank you so much for posting it.

*pulls aside the women of RF* You! You're amazing! (Not that I don't think men are, too, but we need to occasionally remind ourselves of this!)

I love the one you posted. It is very similar to this one, called A Mother's Only Weakness:
Why are you crying, a young boy asked his Mom?

"Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said.

His Mom just hugged him and said,
"And you never will, but that's O.K.".......

Later the little boy asked his father,
"Why does Mom seem to cry for no reason?".
"All women cry for no reason," was all his Dad could say......

The little boy grew up and became a man,
still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he asked "God, why do women cry so easily?"

GOD answered......

"When I made woman,
I decided she had to be special.
I made her shoulders
strong enough to carry
the weight of the world, yet,
made her arms gentle enough to give comfort...

I gave her the inner strength
to endure childbirth
and the rejection
that many times will come
even from her own children.

I gave her a hardness
that allows her
to keep going and take care
of her family and friends,
even when everyone else gives up, through sickness and fatigue without
complaining....

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all
circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly....

She has the very special power to make a child's boo-boo feel better and
to quell a teenager's anxieties and fears....

I gave her strength to care for her husband, despite faults
and I fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart....

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but
sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him
unfalteringly....

For all of this hard work,
I also gave her a tear to shed.
It is hers to use
whenever needed and !
it is her only weakness....
When you see her cry,
tell her how much you love her, and all she does for everyone, and even though
she may still cry, you will have made her heart feel good.

Hi ES and Drakma, thankyou so much for posting those beautiful words, I don't know why, but they always bring tears to my own eyes when I read stuff like that... :)

ok I'm going to sound like a total idiot now but that kind of stuff, while being arguably true, in my mind remains total rubbish. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against women or anything against women's rights, but women aren't better than men, men aren't better than women. The sooner both realise no gender is superior to the other the better. We're all human and all have the capacity to love in the same way. The love of a father and brother is just as strong as that of a mother and sister. Equally the evils of women are just as potent as that of men.

Before you start spouting a load of stuff at me about men and war, don't. Women wouldn't and won't create world peace alone. There'd be war if it were just women too, since there's just the same beligerence, conservatism and warmongery among certain women as there are certain men. You can't brand all women as wonders just as you can't brand all men as terrors. Some people are bad some are good. Gender is not an issue, in my mind at least.

Blunt words I know, but I believe it's true.

I kind of get your point, but I don't see anything wrong in taking a moment to celebrate women. I just wish it was more accepted to take a moment to celebrate men too.

Beautiful words Draka & Enhanced Spirit. Any man with a wife, sister, mother, or grandmother can appreciate their strength.

LonGe123, as I re-read both poems, I only find words in praise of virtues with which the Lord endowed woman. I don't see any negative words about men, and I believe I have been thorough. You might try opening your heart some and reading again.

I'm not sure where you get your unwarranted anger from but there is nothing wrong with taking some time to point out the strengths and beauty of women just as there is nothing wrong with taking some time to point out the strengths and beauty of men. Instead of trying to shine a bad light on a beautiful post, what is stopping you from writing something nice about men. I for one give kudos to Draka and E.S. for a beautiful post. Frubals to you Draka and E.S.

LongGe, I appreciate where you're coming from, since there's always the thought process that goes 'if you're going to say something in praise of something else, you've got to put down the other thing.' I didn't get any sense of that, though, from either post.

As Turk suggested, why not post something equally lovely about men? There's plenty of stuff to celebrate in them, too!

Hmm... I might just do that... *wanders off to make a thread*

Dear Draka and EnhancedSpirit,

Thank you both for the lovely words. We are aware that there are some women that are not all sweetness and light, but we can still praise the ladies that are. :clap

Joyfully,
Martha

I'm aware that there's nothing negative towards men actually in the poems, but it is kind of a sub text. All I'm really saying is that it is wrong that this kind of poem about women is perfectly acceptable but if someone wrote one about a man, it would probably be scorned or just laughed at, which in my mind is bollocks. My other point is, humans are humans, some of us suck and some of us rule. Gender is and should remain irrelevant. We should celebrate the strength of people, not just women, and not just men.

Actually, no. It would be considered sexist:rolleyes:

Here you go, guys. "to all the men, I've loved before . . ."

The Strength of a Man
The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders.
It's seen in the width of his arms that circle you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice.
It's in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has.
It's how good a buddy he is with his kids.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work.
It's in how respected he is at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits.
It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest.
It's in his Heart ... that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man isn't how many women he's loved.
It's in how he can be true to one woman.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift.
It's in the burdens he can carry.
