One God is tolerance for Christians

soma

John Kuykendall
The exceptional finding that there is one God awaits each one of us, giving us the ability to change our lives for the better. When we understand the true meaning of one God, our concept of god expands and builds a greater awareness of God’s presence within us. It is a journey towards unity and a new way of living. As we progress on this journey to oneness, we find our lives gradually transformed in a positive way, which includes both the conscious and the unconscious. This balance brings the discovery of a new reality along with a balance between the rational and the irrational, between the intellect and instinct, and between the conscious mind and the unconscious. As we acquire unity, we see that nothing exist in isolation so the nature of our being is unity, a unity of body, mind and spirit. Wholeness or holiness can be achieved with a watchful mind and the knowledge that everything is united in God, if old fears, doubts and prejudices wear away to make room for new ideas and understanding.http://thinkunity.com

I have one car. Albeit, it is made up of THOUSANDS of parts, they are still just "one car".

Jesus has one BODY. Sure it is made up of MANY members, and we all have different duties, but we are still one BODY.

God, of course, is made up from the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are one and they are unified. Hallelujah!

Haha, well, trying to figure out what this thread is doing in Anglican/Episcopalian, but what the hay.

Good reply Net Doc. Here's my chance to use the disco smiley:

:disco:

My take on it is that unity will follow love. I agree with the concept that we are all of one Body, but it's kind of hard to implement 'unity' with another person. What do you say? What do you do? But love, yes, that I can get a handle on. Want an ice cream cone? That's love. Need a hug, or a kind word? Love.

I think this is in here possibly because of Ang/Ep. willingness to talk about meditation.

However the Anglican faith is both Trinitarian and is strongly biased towards worship.
The Trinity is an attempt to explain the oneness of God, Perhaps it is difficult to grasp by anyone including Anglicans.
That the Father Son and Holy spirit are one, is simply a mystery we must accept.

I believe, We are also One with God in that our souls are of God.

I do not need to invent, Join or support a separate Mystical organisation to understand this.
It is all supported in prayer, worship, and silent meditation with in the Anglican faith.

That's the wonderful thing about mysticism - it transcends organizations. It can be found in all faiths, too. It comes to each one in his or her own life.

This would also be akin to believing Sufism is separate from the sects of Islam, although people might say 'I am a Sufi' there is generally a school of thought in approaching the theology.

Christian meditation is mysticism, imo, in that it's stilling the mind to have direct knowledge/experience of God, it's a prayer where you listen.
