Ok, i'll get to the point.
i'v had sex and i'm not married? does that not make me a sinner in the eyes of the lord?
what can cleanse my soul of my sins if i am?
EKYM...
Been there, done that. Actually the Bible says that ALL have sinned, that there is none righteous, no not one. So, we are all in the same boat there no matter what the particular sins we have commited. The Bible says that Adam sinned and passed this sin-nature or fallen nature to all of us. And as you see, we all sin.
How to cleanse your soul of sins? You can't. But Jesus Christ can. The Bible says when we confess our sins (to God), Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness. ALL. The Bible says the wages or penalty of sin is death. But Jesus paid that penalty--he died on the cross paying the wages of sin. He paid for all the sins of all the world for all time once and for all. This includes every sin you or I have ever or will ever commit. Jesus said if we believe in him, believe or trust that his death paid for all our sins, that right then and there we have eternal life and will never come back into condemnation, but are passed from death to life from that moment on. The Bible goes on to say that anything we do to try to earn salvation (works of righteousness) is as filthy rags to a holy God, but Jesus gives us his righteousness in place of our own--a robe of righteousness.
When a person trusts Christ to have paid for their sins as a totally free gift, their sins are forgiven, forgotten, buried in the deepest sea, removed as far as the east from the west (infinity), never to be brought up against them again, for Christ took the punishment for them in our place. ALL of them. All means all. Although our sins were scarlet, we are washed whiter than snow by the blood of Christ. Now we are God's children, adopted into his family. We will always be his children, though at times we may not enjoy fellowship with him due to sin in our lives. When this happens, we are still his children, we simply confess our sins and strive to live holy lives as best we can. We will still sin. The Bible says we are liars if we say we have no sin. We will grow, but it is in God's grace that we grow as we yield to the Spirit and pray and study God's Word, etc. One day, we will all be transformed, when Christ returns for us, we shall be like Him, and we will have no sin. We will be incorruptible, immortal and glorified and will ever be with the Lord. I hope that answers the question. I will try to answer whatever questions you may have.
Grace and Peace,
Mike
