Only Democrats have gotten impeached?

I would have to guess that in my lifetime Bill Clinton was the worst liberal president.

He didn't do nearly the damage that George W bush did though.

Richard Nixon never got impeached.

Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were the only two to get impeached. Both were Democrats.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The small sample size makes it statistically insignificant.
But Clinton did do some major damage with his crime bill.
Prison populations exploded....a civil rights disaster.

You probably don't remember the Democratic president right before him.
Jimmy "The Christian" Carter was unarguably worse. For the same reason Obama was mostly a failure. Because he just didn't have the political clout to take on the billionaires who really run the USA.

You want to know what's really weird?

I actually kind of liked Bill Clinton. The only thing that he did that I hate about the man was the NAFTA agreements. I think that really damaged our country pretty bad.

I recall many people liking him.
And they cast a blind eye towards the wrong he did.

Impeach doesn't mean much... it's a fancy word for "charges"

It's not even a conviction. Generally, all this means is that there will be a trial to decide what to do. If the thing done was something minor like lying the President will continue to sit.

Anyway, based on history... seeking impeachment for a political end (such as deposing a President) is highly idiotic as it has no chance of working at all.

Republicans seem to have a cruder sense of "mutual protection" that leads to, shall we call them ethically questionable attitudes.

Compare and contrast: Kavanaugh vs Merrick Garland. Al Franken vs Donald Trump. Bill Clinton vs Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, GWB.

Richard Nixon resigned to avoid not only impeachment in the House of Representatives, but conviction in the Senate, which was already a given in both cases..

I like the titles to my threads to be clickbait sometimes. :p

I know that two impeached presidents does not in anyway give the Democrat Party a bad name.

If the count was 10 Democrats to -0 Republicans, that would actually mean something.

He wasn't faithful to Hillary...
Aren't most politicians and powerful men horn dogs?
If they weren't ambitious, driven, type- A personalities they would never have risen to top leadership positions. The unusually high levels of circulating testosterone that made them ambitious also made them unusually libidinous. It's a side-effect. Can't have high drive without high libido.

The question is: does their libido negatively affect foreign or domestic policy?
and what made Clinton "the worst liberal president?"

One historical problem with Andrew Jackson he was a Southern Democrat, which became the Republican Party in the South in recent history. I do not believe you can make the comparison with the old parties of the 19th century with the parties in recent history when President Clinton was President.

Both presidents still served out their terms.
Yes, but they were both impeached.

An impeachment is the legal equivalent of an indictment. Not all of those indicted are found guilty by a jury of their peers. And not all of those impeached are found guilty in the Senate.

To answer the OP, only Democrat presidents have been impeached, but there have been 19 impeachments in the U.S. with four found guilty and removed.

Democrats are forgiving. Republicans are vicious opportunists.
It's no wonder more Democrats have been impeached. Republicans never let up.
