Opening ceremony for Olympics has drag queens resembling the Last Supper

As the saying goes, pictures or it did not happen. If this happened someone somewhere captured an image of it and put it up on the internet.

The large picture above is the closest I could find at the moment, however the lady in red and green has not yet moved towards the centre in this shot, later on she was on the other side of the person in silver and leaning in towards her… ( see pic below) If you can imagine that order in the pic above, then (some, I admit, not all, but some) even wear the same colour schemes as in the painting.

I watched a YT video in which the host discussed the inverted arm position of the person on the right too, but there are too many videos of this now, and I can’t find that particular one again.

Anyway, I am going to stop trying to convince you all, because maybe you are not supposed to see it the way I do and if too many people see it, it will become too real… I.e. Maybe I am strengthening the evil side by giving it attention and the more people see it the more attention it will get, so I am just going to leave it alone now.

If that makes you feel like you ’won’ the debate against me, then I am happy to concede and give you the win, if that’s what you need. :)

How could it have been easy? How could they have predicted such outrage over it when there was nothing going on?

Nothing to do with predicting any outrage. Just a little narrative to inform folks about the basis for the festival to be more inclusive.

This is the crowd who insisted things like Magic the Gathering and Harry Potter teach witchcraft, who say Pokemon and evolution open one up to demonic influence.
They'd still be outraged because they lived by taking John Lennon out of context and insisting we can actually can hear Satanic messages when you play the record backwards.

I watched it live, sorry, I don’t have a recording, but it raised my eyebrow at the time and I was glad to find I had not been the only one who noticed even though it was only for a second or two, (but it was definitely there). It’s also telling that the Olympic Committee themselves removed it from YT so I can not go there and find the exact point now to show you!
Are you under the impression that Jesus was a blue person? Have you never imagined that other feasts and festivities have been depicted in painting form and that perhaps, given that this was the Olympics and everything, the most likely explanation was that it was a depiction of the ancient Greek gods? Especially given that one of the guys was blue.

See now, this is why I implored you to read through the thread. We've been over and over this already.

What is it that you think the Olympic committee removed? And from where?
I just wish people stopped focusing so much on just that one instance… to me, all the instances taken together over the various different occasions says more than any single confirmation/denial on any single incident in just one particular show does.
Multiple incidences of ... what?

Whoa, whoa, you're claiming this is .... evil?
How so?

Then perhaps not so unpredictable.

Then perhaps not so unpredictable.
Then why walk on egg shells? They get offended over the most trivial things, like the rainbow that was on Dark Side of the Moon long before LGBT was using it.
Just let them cry and be stupid rather than force people to cater to them even more.

I thought the idea was to be inclusive.

Not when it means catering to prejudice and bigotry, not when the issue is people who are so self centered they cannot see it does not all revolve around them.

That's pretty prejudicial and bigoted, but I don't suppose I have to tell you that.

The extravagant opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics has caused fury among the populist and religious right in the United States and elsewhere, with critics especially unhappy about an apparent depiction of the Last Supper featuring drag performers.

Drag performance resembling Last Supper at Olympic opening ceremony rankles conservatives

The entire Olympic games is a pre Christian celebration of sport, originally performed by entirely nude athletes.
The entire Gamut of greek gods would have been represented, except for the yet to be proposed god of the Jews and Christians.
The Christian right should accept the nature of the olympics for what it is, it is certainly not a Christian brand. It is universal.

I have no issues with that. We mustn't be so tolerant that we tolerate intolerance.
Tolerance doesn't mean you have to agree with it. It only means you have to understand that just because a person doesn't have the same pov as you make them evil.
