Who here likes to order junk food deliveries online?

This evening I am getting a curry from Just Eat

I like curries

It's so cool because you don't need to give the delivery guy any cash, you pay for it online when you order it

I find ordering delivery just too costly by the time one factors in delivery fees, service fees, and a tip. If I order anything online, I pick it up.

As far as curries go, I make my own at home.

How much does it cost you to order a curry?

For me it's about £20

Can't afford it often only as a treat

I am a door dash enjoyer for sure! About once or twice a month I'll use it and try a new restaurant in the area to see how their food is. It's a good way to see what's in the area without spending time going out and about to get it. It is definitely expensive though, so it's not something I do too often

I never tried ordering a curry for delivery. The closest Indian restaurant to me is about 30 miles away, so I imagine delivery would be quite expensive.

Early experiences I had with food delivery were not positive. It took three or four times longer to get my food than it would've for me to just go get it myself. Also, I cook. I just don't see the point of the "service" when it is so terrible and not needed.

I've had good experiences, but I'd caution it's a bad habit to start.
Fees add up quickly, and I've found I stop thinking of it as an occasional treat like eating out.

You’re looking in my direction, aren’t you?

That sounds pretty good.

Same here in Korea. When I order on Coupang Eats, the cost of the food and the delivery fee are both completely taken care of online.

I find ordering delivery just too costly by the time one factors in delivery fees, service fees, and a tip.

I would choose not to order food online in the US for those reasons.

It took three or four times longer to get my food than it would've for me to just go get it myself.

This reminds me that one time, when my father’s car was in the shop, he had to order groceries online from Walmart. The delivery driver took more than 24 hours to arrive for some weird reason.

Fees add up quickly, and I've found I stop thinking of it as an occasional treat like eating out.

They do add up, yeah. If I were to pay a delivery fee of 3,000 KRW every day for 30 days, that would be 90,000 KRW total (currently same as 65.96 USD).

Define "ordering online"

i ask because my daughter will sit outside McDonald's, use the app to order, then drive up to the take out window and pick it up.
She does the same with Starbucks.

I probably would like it too much. I've long had a rule for myself that if I want take-out, I have to go out and get it myself. My preferred places are all a short walk away but it's enough to keep me from doing it more than I should for the good of my health and my wallet.

I'd be concerned what would happen to me if I had the ability to order food to my door without even getting off my backside.
