original sin

If I understand correctly Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for the original 'sin' of Adam and Eve which has blighted mankind since that time. What exactly was their sin?

The Bible indicates that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world, everyone's sins...And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1 John 2:2

What exactly was their sin?

Disobedience to a direct command of God their Creator.

Eve was tricked by the cunning serpent. So she didn't sin.

But Adam accepted the fruit and ate it even though he had been the one whom had been instricted not to eat it. He sinned. Each male generation after him carries that original sin because we in a way are him.

Jesus came and freed us from this revolving generation of sin, if we follow him and do his works. If now, we stay with nature with is what 'Adam was kicked out into after he left Eden. Nature is a state of revolving survival of the fittest govenment which develops vitality but never progresses.

That is why the Bible was written by men and for men. It is a man's problem this sinning alike to Adam. As most older and wise people know in almost all cases of family trouble it is the man who causes it. Men need the Bible. Woman are by nature good but are decievable by men. This is what the Bible shows and brings us the remedy.

he didnt die for Adam and Eves sin. He died for the sins of their children. Adam and Eve will not be forgiven for their 'disobedience'.... but we can be forgiven for ours due to the fact that we were born into this condition.

We are not bound by the sins of our ancestors. We have choices in life, we just generally fail at picking the correct choice, and that isn't really related to a sin someone did thousands of years ago.
The story of Adam and Eve isn't a literal, historical account of the first two humans, but rather a metaphorical (not sure if that's the correct term) story that tells how the the humans failed at making the correct choices and as a result were no longer a perfect image of God.

This if of course what I believe, others might disagree. :)

"But Adam accepted the fruit and ate it even though he had been the one whom had been instricted not to eat it. He sinned."

If this is correct why do women still suffer pain and distress at childbirth which was Eve's punishment I think.

Sin is a disobedience to God, that's why "For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
In other words Adam and Eve "sold" us to the slavery of sin. Only by putting faith in Jesus's ransom, we can receive "everlasting life" on earth.

How could Eve have sinned when the Bible says she was tricked by the most cunning one of them all. To be tricked is sin?

Adam was not tricked but he sinned.

If you don't understand even that then how can you understand more about it?

I never used to understand this either. But people woke me up to it. Now much more is clear about the Bible's message. You have to understand this first point about Adam and Eve first.

God gave out appropriat punishments to each of the Serpent, woman and the man. Understand the significane of these respective punishments. Answers are there.

Eve has no sin. The only sin is in man. Paul said about sin;

"I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh..." Rm.6;19

Sin has to do with his serpent. If you are not a man, a real man, you cannot know this. The Bible is written by men for men because they are the ones who need it. Women are already good people.

But of course, according to current political correctness, this isn't understood. So, alas, today the churches empty. It's not a game you know. Children can't understand this stuff. Actually only men can because it's addressing their type of problem. The Serpent that cunning guy will find any excuse.

Women have no fault of their own in this world.(except the occasional law breaker) There allegence is to their husbands. There husbands take all responsibility for their wives and their children. This is good in God's eyes.

"For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband...." Rm.7;2 Eve's husband was Adam. Where was he when she was tempted by the devil? Off galivanting just like so many men even today. Not everyman is husband material. Husbanding means looking after wife and kids. The Bible is built upon this idea.

Like it says in the Bible, "there will be a new Adam." But not a new Eve. She never sinned just was "begiled."

to say that punishment was handed out to Eve yet she was "tricked", and innocent, is to say that one believes in an unjust God.

BTW the snake didn't lie to Eve, she was told outright what would happen if she partook of the forbidden fruit.

"And the woman said, the serpent beguiled me...." Gen.3;13

I used the word "punishment." Here is what the Bible says. Because Eve didn't listen to her Husband who knew the commandment, she was put even more under his authority. That is what is happening here.

"And unto the woman he said,.........thy desire shall be unto thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." Gen.3;16

Can you understand this? Ask again and we can discuss it more. Show me what you see.

How did all the people between Adam and Jesus acquire forgiveness?

If Adam had not have followed his wife into sin, perhaps things would have worked out quite differently.
Her error may never have been counted to her as sin for the reason that she was fool. If Adam stood up for what was right and remained loyal to God, then his wife's error could have ended there and then....and the snake would have had no grounds to continue with his plan to drive mankind away from God.

I really believe that Adam had the power to save the situation.... but he chose not to.

They just turned away from the sins. If you choose to follow God and try your best to not do wrong, he'll forget your sins.
The Bible has stated that you are not responsible for the sins of your ancestors and God forgets your sins if you choose to turn away from them. I cannot recall exactly which verses say this, though.

I think that i agree with you fully. Adam was the man for whom the woman was but a "companion" in this sense. Adam was even then in charge of the family to be. You are correct as far as i can figure.

And this is what i've said in my previous posts. Eve was "begiled" so she didn't sin. She just made a bad mistake.

The Holy Bible was written by men for men under God's guidence. It is about correcting "mens problems" as Paul indicates in the following verse.

"I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh." Rm.6;19 (he means his serpent)

If Adam had not sinned than there would be no need for the Bible to have been written?

Hello seeker,
First tell me where it says that they were.

What i mean to say is thus. This question is a big one with many arms and legs. You are asking what is the state and condition of all the people who have died before Jesus Christ's arrival. He has indeed left a few verses describing the resurrection, and in fact two resurrections of different types. If you have a particular Bible verse referring to this please show me. Here is an important verse where Jesus talks about two resurrection. Remember, the kingdom of heaven is "within you."Lk.17;21 But it is also later in eternity after we die. All this can be very mysterious untill you have studied all the verses.

"And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are giben in marriage:
"But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry , nor are given in marriage. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels: and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection." Lk.20;34-36

"Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of tahe living; for all live unto him." Lk. 20;37,38

We must study these verses and many more to get an understanding of what the Bible says would occure to whom and when. I appreciate your correspondence and would continue this discussion if you have any more ideas.

If Adam had not sinned he and his family would still be living under Gods guidance and rulership in an earthly paradise.

So I think you are absolutely correct in that. The only reason why we need the bible is because mankind became alienated from God and they lost their connection with him. God has provided the bible as a way for us to find that connection.

I have no doubt that in the future, the bible will not be needed.

It says that "there will be no temple." Rev.21;22
