I disagree, and further, I think this deplorable "theology" has done more to harm people than possibly any other notion.
Please explain what harm?

If you have to ask, it's not going to do any good to try to explain it to you. Outside of the guilt and shame that are easily internalized and cause emotional and physical stress, there are also feelings of inadequacy which lead to utter hopelessness, bitterness, even rage. None of these emotional states is healthy. Plus, it's just really bad theology. This is nothing more than violence hiding under the guise of "spirituality." Spirituality exists to help make more of our lives, not less. Please explain what harm?
doesn't the idea of original sin kind of leave you incapable of ever being good enough for anything? like an untouchable, pariah?
Original sin is contradicted a half dozen times in scripture. Sometimes it says God will punish unto the 6thgeneration and then turn right around and say that sons are not responsible for the sins of their fathers.,, Then, round about and back again.
IMO its weak doctrine.
yes but it can't even be original because adam nor eve were born with it. it supposedly occurred as a result of choosing this vs that, correct?
I believe you are talking about a doctrine and not the real thing.
I believe that is the theory of the fall of Satan.
Well, I'm still good for an old fashioned roll in the hay. There's that.doesn't the idea of original sin kind of leave you incapable of ever being good enough for anything? like an untouchable, pariah?
But if you know what is going to happen, it isn't as much fun. So the sealing, covering.I believe the contrary is true. If sin had an origin then it means that beings without sin could have preceded it and makes it possible to return to that state.
It's simply the fall of spirit into materialism. When Adam and Eve's eyes were opened could they see their vulnerability as material beings. Only when their eyes were opened did they realize they spiritually were not in paradise.I believe that is the theory of the fall of Satan.

No, basically I’m saying that original sin is horrible theology and should not be promulgated by any compassionate person. As a corollary to your post, I’d have to add that if you’re really so callous as to dismiss the traumatizing of human beings in favor of your pet theory (which is opinion and not truth) you’d do well to enter into some serious self-examination of your spiritual condition and motives. Because this kind of violence isn’t cool and can’t be excused in the name of “spreading the ‘gospel.’”So, basically you are saying that truth should not be said, because people may not like it, or people can’t handle the truth?
no. should I?doesn't the idea of original sin kind of leave you incapable of ever being good enough for anything? like an untouchable, pariah?
I believe that we are already in that state; sin is in the forgetting of our natural state.I believe the contrary is true. If sin had an origin then it means that beings without sin could have preceded it and makes it possible to return to that state.
There is no real thing. The doctrine is fundamentally, theologically flawed IMO.I believe you are talking about a doctrine and not the real thing.

And yet, the Psalms say: "Where can I hide from your presence...?" And , "Before I was in my mother's womb, you knew me." Jesus is called, "God With Us." No, we're not "born in separation." We become separated as we are in the process of living life.I am not sure what you mean with “original sin”. I don’t see anything bad in the idea. But obviously, for me it means only that people are born in separation from God, because Adam and Eve rejected God and were expelled to this first death.
Adam and Eve were in that state until their eyes were opened.I believe that we are already in that state; sin is in the forgetting of our natural state.
