Overreacting to Threads

I myself have been guilty of this.......and I notice many others are also. I feel it basically wastes everyones time...explaining what is really meant. I urge the people who post to think of how it could be taken, and those who respond to read it thoroughly. Once certain things are said they cannot be taken back.

I never ever overreact! How DARE YOU presume such a thing? :D Even when we talk about inflamatory issues (like Bush) I am always the paramont of civility and restraint.

However, that TVOR character needs to be put in his place I tell you! :D

This is the craziest thread I've ever seen in my life. I don't know why you think people overeact to threads. It's beyond me where you get that idea from. What nonsense! What utter nonsense! You've ruined my whole day with your nonsense! You'll hear from my lawyer on this. It's a good thing I'm not NetDoc or TVOR, or I might overeact to your miserable thread.

Sensative subjects bound to happen. When your cyber debate is done and you turn off your pc your reality is still the same but if your preception of that reality is diffrent and maybe even clearer, than you have gained an enlightenment and someone has given you the gift of spirtual gowth.

There are two reasons to argue

1) to win
2) to use adverse communication for an appreciation of your knowlege base. (ie enlightment)

With # 1 you win some you loose some
with # 2 you win everytime and if the other person's motives are the same I see it as a win-win situation.

Ah, Robtex, the most fun option is #3 where you try both to win, learn, and have fun :).

I think some opponents come to the debate already "senseless". :D

The point is that some of us come to verify our beliefs or change them. Instead of thinking we have already arrived, we are searching for WHAT is right.

Am I hearing that to debate is not to knock your opponent sensless?

Well, I wouldn't say that :). I kind of enjoy the contest that way. I was referring to when I get nasty (likely to happen if I think an idea is particularly inane...that's a spiritual flaw I've been working on and have gotten quite a bit better at lol). There's no real excuse for that.
