Since you guys seem to like my jokes so much I thought that I'd post some of my favorite types...Oxymorons! YAY:woohoo: I have been described as an oxymoron, so maybe that's why I love them so much. Anyway, here is some for you!

In your list below, I have taken the liberty of highlighting the terms that I consider to be oxymorons. The others I do not. There is, of course, room for argument on several of them.

almost exactly
among the first (usually means among the first few)
buried alive
boxing ring
calculated spontaneity (although I have never seen this term used)
Curved Line
dress pants (in this usage "dress" means formal vs. casual, not a skirted garment--but OK as a sound-alike pun)
even odds
Forgotten memories
graduate student (a student who is studying for an advanced degree)
hot chili (chili does not mean chilly--but OK as a sound-alike pun)
inside out
Jump start
kosher ham
locks on 7-11 stores (Of course they have locks. They are not open 24 hours a day)
modern history (recent history would be a better term)
new tradition
organized chaos (Although I have never seen this term used)
pianoforte
Quickly Slowing Down
real phony (should be "really" phony--and is not an oxymoron)
Scottish Danish (I have never heard of such a thing)
talk show
Unique uniforms
Vanilla Fudge
weak muscle
xenophobic foreign secretary
young adult
zero deficit

Aw heck; I always thought that an oxymoron was someone who'd forgotten how to breathe!........:jiggy:

*WARNING* I may have made a few of the following up as I was thinking of any that I knew and others may only be oxymorons in my own mind.

Hurry Up and Wait...(definitely happens when you need help from your state Department of Social Services or other agency that is supposed to provide assistance)

Ridiculously smart
Brainfart
Noninvasive surgery (I think any surgery is invasive, just some more than others)
