Pamphlets from a hospital chapel

Sirona

Hindu Wannabe
I was unable to attend my swimming lesson at a hospital, and sat in the hospital chapel instead, reading Christian pamphlets for about an hour. One of the pamphlets complained (probably rightly) that especially former Christians were tending to become "religious vagabonds" (which is probably true), and that more and more New Age ideas were allegedly seeping into church communities (which I don't know about). It was also said that Hindus were letting rats loose in hospitals to eat "paralyzed old men" and "helpless babies," which would arouse "God's pity". Yeah, pity. Moreover, for the author of the pamphlet, Hinduism seems to consist solely of Hare Krishna, which I bet they don't know a thing about but it seems to serve as an enemy stereotype so nicely.
I may be accused of being biased, and I know that the fact that Christians are supposed to love all people doesn't mean that in reality, they actually do love "all people", but to me it's like introducing enemy stereotypes through the backdoor. Moreover, these pamphlets were not on display in a denominational hospital, but in a public building, and the chapel is run by an official church affiliated with the state. That's why I would have expected some moderation from them. But maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm probably the only one who reads this stuff anyway. o_O

Wait, we're not supposed to be doing this?

Personally i would report the hatred to whoever is supposed to run the chapel, i am guessing they have been asked if whoever can place pamphlets in the chapel without reading the content.

Someone ought to protest to the authors of that pamphlet that spreads stupid rumours about rats. It's an imbecile accusation - Why would anyone do such a thing? - and in fact libellous. Do you know what church that one came from?

Certainly worth reporting to the hospital management. They would be appalled.

Wow, I hope you say something and get this remedied.

Was there one on the Pope being the AntiChrist?

I believe a chapel is open to the public and anyone could drop off a pamphlet and I bet a person could leave a Hare Krishna pamphlet. Who knows, the Watchtower is everywhere.

I believe chapels are most likely set up by Christians but if a person wanted to include another religion one could ask the administration for permission and most likely it would be granted unless the hospital was fully owned by the church as was the case with the one my children were born in until later when it was secularized.

I believe that begs the question of whether we want secular people deciding what is good religion and what is bad religion.

No,nit begs the question why the **** christians are posting hate pamphlets in hospital chapel? And why are the administration allowing it (if they actually know about it)

There are Christians and then there are those who call themselves Christians who Christ would not recognize. To me a real Christian seeks to integrate the Sermon on the Mount into her life and does his best to live the Greatest Commandments. "By their fruits, ye shall know them"

Such a place would be an easy target for anyone wanting to plant their own religious propaganda, and/or remove anyone else's.

Pamphlet dropping is as old as chick comics.

I kind of get a kick out of reading the craziness these things say.

Unfortunately, in a chapel where someone may be mourning the loss of a loved on and not firing on all cylinders, something that that can be influential

...It was also said that Hindus were letting rats loose in hospitals to eat "paralyzed old men" and "helpless babies," which would arouse "God's pity"...

What if that is actually true? I think the one who made that claim should prove it correct, or retract the claim.
