Greetings zenarchs,
The paramitas have been an essential aspect of Zen living throughout time. They can be categorized in groups of six, ten, one, and/or none. The six are generally called generosity, ethical conduct, constancy, joyous effort/perseverance, one-pointed concentration, and wisdom.
How important are the paramitas in modern Zen Buddhism? Are they ever discussed in zendos?
Are the perfections a reflection of practice? How are they different from vows, precepts, and commandments? How are they similar?
Thanksies.
