What can we do as a country to reign in this rightwing redneck rampage against liberty, rights, equality, justice, science, education, etc.? It's a serious problem that will see our nation become a 3rd world theocracy if not resolved.

Honestly, I think that junior high kids should read about astronomy, physics, geography, history, etc...

I don't think homosexual intercourse is a good topic to educate kids of such a young age.

Read the books that others would burn.

I think that junior high kids, on the verge of puberty, need a certain education of their developing sexuality.

After all, they have the internet; they're going to see things, and they're going to have questions about themselves and about the world. Where would you prefer they go to find the answers to those questions? Deeper into the Internet into God-knows-what, or a more academic setting?

They can read them outside of school. I don't get why a teacher should make them read this kind of books.

Calling the cops reminds me of Captain Allnutt (Bogart) in The African Queen....

Good for them. I'd report it too.

Third world theocracy etc is ridiculous hyperbole.

I'm sure the police enjoy having their time wasted with frivolous reports from ignorant dopes.

Clearly, people are having their rights and freedoms threatened by legislation based solely on irrational religious beliefs.
Separate out the cant, snark and hyprbole
and all you've left is a comma and two periods.
