Pat Robertson says Haiti under a Curse

 Are you saying that you're only here to try and get people to convert to Christianity? I'm not sure what you're saying.

I am saying that to try and move one away from faith is no better:) To put your views out there and receive criticism is fine. I cant tell people they will go to Hell for this or that unless they accept Jesus, yet I can receive the reverse?

ie.

I know what you meant, not a problem. I was making a wise crack in my post.

I have seen posts though that were dead set against faith and pointing out that followers were stupid. As a prior post.

so your saying that if a person tells you to stop being stupid (which is what been happening on this thread) then they are telling you to stop being christian as well? you cant be a smart christian, is intelligence contradictory to christianity in your opinion? you form your arguments quite badly, or maybe quite well, as the case may be.

Well I think all of those who don't see things my way are being stupid.

No really just those who have said the same.

China is one of the countries most affected by natural disasters. It had 6 of the world's top 10 deadliest natural disasters; the top 3 occurred in China: the 1931 China floods, death toll 2 million to 4 million, the 1887 Yellow River flood, death toll 0.9 million to 2 million, and the 1556 Shaanxi earthquake, death toll 0.83 million.
"Natural disasters occur frequently in China, affecting more than 200 million people every year. They have become an important restricting factor for economic and social development."[1]
In the course of recorded history, many types of natural disasters — except volcano eruptions — have occurred in China, which include floods, droughts, meteorological, seismic, geological, maritime and ecological disasters as well as forestry and grassland fires.
These natural disasters pose serious threats to life and property safety to China and its people and severely affect the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of that country's economy and society. In addition, they threaten China's national security and social stability and stand in the way of economic development in some regions and poverty alleviation of certain rural population.

hmmm
maybe Archer is right..... Pat Roberson IS on to something...

or maybe the figures are just large because all those non bible reading satanic chinese people...come in large numbers compared to land space...

He is suggesting that calling people "names" for holding a belief amounts to proselytizing, attempting to draw them away from their faith (through appeals to their shame, pride, "logic", fear, etc.)

At this point, Archer, I don't know what your position is. Do you assert that God smote the poor Haitians for practicing voudou, or don't you?

And who called you stupid?

So let me get this. Your (bigoted, bizarre, superstitious, primitive) assertion is that God smote Haiti with this earthquake to punish Haitians for practicing voudou. Wow, that is one disgusting God you worship. *makes not to self never to consider converting to Christianity under any circumstances.* If you were right, that would be reason enough not to worship such a God. Frankly, the whole idea makes me sick.

And you believe all this and everything that happens is merely an accident or coincidental fate... Now, that is one sick idea --- don't you think?

I have found that a more effective way to find out what someone believes is to ask them rather than tell them.

Irrelevant at this point:)

Do I think God did it? No. I do however believe their is a veil protecting believers from things like this.

Now, according to a Gallup Poll, Vermont is the least religious of the fifty states.
In fact, last year the state legislature of Vermont voted to overturn the Governors veto of same sex marriage. The first state to pass same-sex marriage by legislative action.
By the reasoning of Pat Robertson and certain ignorant posters, of the fifty states, Vermont should have the most natural disasters, crime rates, and terrorist attacks.
The last major hurricane to hit Vermont was in 1938 compared to Mississippi's seasonal disasters(the state with the highest percentage of religious citizens).
The crime rate per-capita is lower than Mississippi's .
And the terrorists have not targeted Vermont.

Is God not paying attention to his targets, or where he places his "protective veil"?

I agree. As I said I do not believe God did it directly, but he knows where his people are:) Some ignorant people seem to twist thing or blow them out of proportion:D
