Pat Robertson says Haiti under a Curse

Are you saying that the reason you twist the scriptures is that you don't believe? Because we've firmly established that you twist the heck out of them.

You have no foundation for that comment! Wait till tomorrow to talk any more crap to me, I go bed now.

Night guys, I am hitting the clock.

So let me get this. Your (bigoted, bizarre, superstitious, primitive) assertion is that God smote Haiti with this earthquake to punish Haitians for practicing voudou. Wow, that is one disgusting God you worship. *makes not to self never to consider converting to Christianity under any circumstances.* If you were right, that would be reason enough not to worship such a God. Frankly, the whole idea makes me sick.
"SMOTE!" The motto of the Church Militant.;)

No. It is sinful for two of the same sex to be in a sexual relationship therefore how can it be allowed in a Christian Church.

I said Hate and Christ are not compatible.

Hold.

Sinful has many synonyms.

iniquitous, depraved, evil, immoral, corrupt

But I assume you mean a transgression against divine law? Whose divine law? Jesus? That new god? He is like bell bottoms in the 60s.

You have sinned according to the bible Jesus represents but according to the aztecs and mayans your sins are far worse... what? You dont believe in gods that predate zombie boy?

Constantine chose your faith long before your sorry soul emerged into this world.

Do not suggest your words of hate are to be accepted because your bible says its so. You are sinful.. jesus was sinful according to many gods. If you ask most christians for days now gone anyone who walks on water is a witch or a warlock and shall be put to death. By christian hands.

Honestly... many christians... followers of christ are already gay...

Well I think all of those who don't see things my way are being stupid.
What about those of us who prefer to see things Christ's way? Stupid?
"...He saved others! He cannot save himself!" This is the kind of stuff that "my way" produces and propagates.

I mean hateful racist white folk.
Oh! You mean like the ones who have systematically screwed over Haiti and caused its infrastructure to be so underdeveloped that it cannot withstand a disaster that would hardly faze the US?

As I said it will happen everywhere. God dont like guys getting hit in the poop shoot so it may be sooner.
"Poop shoot." Which translation would that be?
I get it! "Poop shoot" is an anglicanization of the German pupschut, which German translators assigned to an unpronounceable Hebrew word for "hiney-pirate."

Last time I looked, sexual relationships of any kind are frowned upon in church. Better to keep those activities confined to the privacy of one's bedroom.

BTW, how does sexual relations of a marital nature equate to "hate?":areyoucra

Read the Bible.
have read it. Don't seem to find any such prohibition there. Yes, there are some scattered statements that have less to do with sexual sin than they do with purity laws, but a ban on marriage??? No. Not there.

I have thought this for a very long time. I like this quote from John Dominic Crossan's book, "Who is Jesus".
"My point, once again, is not that those ancient people told literal stories and we are now smart enough to take them symbolically, but that they told them symbolically and we are now dumb enough to take them literally".
Freakin' well said!

Actually I am quite busy but I have a spare moment. Jesus was under the law, there would have been no need to mention it unless he condoned it, in which case he would have mentioned it like so many other things! Read the Bible, go to a conservative church, not to be converted but to grasp what I am trying to tell you. Those who do not believe twist the scriptures.
Soo... Jesus only mentioned what he condoned? ("Den of thieves" and "brood of vipers" leap to mind here).
This is precisely why I don't attend a conservative church!

Lucky us.
Jesus was under the law,
Mathew 5:17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
Mathew 7:12"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
there would have been no need to mention it unless he condoned it,
Jesus mentioned his entire summation of the Laws. "do to others what you would have them do to you"

in which case he would have mentioned it like so many other things!
Poor excuse, there are many OT Laws and Commands that Jesus did not mention, yet Christians do not feel obligated to follow.
Read the Bible,
Been there, done that. Cover to cover.
go to a conservative church, not to be converted but to grasp what I am trying to tell you.
Southern Baptist conservative enough for you? Went there long enough to be elected as a Deacon.
Those who do not believe twist the scriptures.
Obviously, some of those who do believe are guilty of the same thing.

Perhaps you would do better as a Christian if you concentrated more on Christ's teachings rather than worrying so much about supposed "Laws".

There is always something that leaps into mind when I read discussions such as these- That Jesus didn't preach and teach the "holy" people, he taught the ones those same "holy" creatures called sinners. Jesus stopped a hooker from being stoned, Jesus cured demon-possessed people. Jesus taught a bunch of tax collectors.
In other words, Jesus only seemed to condemn those who thought they were better than those "sinners". He compared those "holy" people to tombs- nice and clean on the outside and full of dead, rotten things. And to a cup that is clean on the outside yet dirty on the inside.

We are supposed to follow in Jesus' footsteps. But hardly any one
seems to be doing that. :(
