Pawns In God's Game

If the Bible is literally true and God created us just like it describes, then one could very well be forgiven for thinking that we are pawns in an elaborate game.
God set it all in motion throwing in a few wild cards like free will and chance, and he is sitting back enjoying the spectacle. From time to time he will teak his creation, or make some minor adjustments just to make it more interesting!

If God is omnipotent he must have had a pretty good idea what would happen when he created human nature, so he is culpable for all that is wrong with the world, imo!!

I don't believe the Bible to be literally true and I think we create our own version of God.

if you were omnipotent and omniscient what could possibly amuse you , you already know what going to happen, what a drab existence for all eternity no surprises nothing happening out of the blue and even suicide is out of the question being indestructible

You are God's biggest critic. ;) But truthfully, as you don't even believe in God, you are not truly criticizing God, you are actually criticizing the people who follow God and wrote all those words in the first place. In other words, you are criticizing us. ;) Not that I mind, after all you have a right to.:) And I have to say you do it more tastefully that others do. :D

I am challenging the literal interpretation of the Bible.:)

I believe at least some of the Bible is in "parable" form. In other words, some of it is symbolic. Jesus spoke in parables to His disciples so I just assume the prophets would have, too. I could be wrong, though. :)

There's a very interesting thought experiment called, "God's Debris". It assumes there's one thing God doesn't know - what would happen if He killed Himself. It's a very interesting read.

I am Who I am
In Gnosticism we are all ignorant and willingly servants of the Demiurge; creator of the physical world and The God of the Old Testament. By the demiurge we are merely pawns in his game to try and take back the light for himself, however, by becoming aware that you are born into bondage and that you are not free (both external and psychological) you begin to break away from the world and its enslavement and slowly return back to the Transcendent God we once came from.

How does the Demiurge work to enslave? Gives morals, millions of rules and demands obedience to him and him alone... *Sigh* Many are fallen to slavery... :( Mere pawns to this lesser God and most of us forgotten we are above this god and are part of the transcendental God of Love, Truth, Mercy and Wisdom.

In christianity one believes that the OT and NT God are the Same... I on the other hand do not... Ones lesser (OT) than the other God (NT)
