Some asked me back when the twin towers were taken down in a terrorist attack in 9/11/01 if it was the time of the end. Some asked me back when the pandemic started if it was the sign of the end. Some recently have asked me if what is going on between Russia and the Ukraine is the sign of the end.
Of course all of these things including others are indeed the sign we are in the last days:
"Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress."-Matthew 24:3, 7-8.
"Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another food shortages and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs."-Luke 21:10-11.
Jesus said that when we see all these things taking place at the same time on a worldwide scale (among others read Matthew 24 and Luke 21 for the full composite sign of the time of the end) we should discern the times and seasons.
Understanding that many will not discern what is happening he said to the people listening to him:
“When evening falls, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is fire-red,’ and in the morning, ‘It will be wintry, rainy weather today, for the sky is fire-red but gloomy.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but the signs of the times you cannot interpret."-Matthew 16:2-3.
But when we see all these things taking place. When will we know that the end has come? The great tribulation he foretold in Matthew 24:
"For then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short."-Matthew 24:21-22.
Surprising enough it does not come when the people of the earth will feel threatened. There is a key prophecy that tells us when it will happen:
"For you yourselves know very well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly on them, just like birth pains on a pregnant woman, and they will by no means escape."-1 Thessalonians 5:2-3.
Just as a thief comes in the night, there will come a time when all the world's rulers and perhaps religions will gather together to give this singular sign, this cry that "peace and security" have been achieved. How it will unfold we have to wait and see. But when that time comes those who are not asleep, but are alert to Bible prophecy will not be fooled. They will know that this is the trigger for incredible Bible prophecies concerning that time to be fulfilled.
