Pelosi Commits an Act of Hypocrisy, Trump Commits a Felony -- America Focuses on Pelosi

Then you would have to admit Pelosi ingored the law for herself or was just plain ignorant.

I live in California, I'm almost completely ignorant of what the laws are for hair salons and restaurants under the current regulations, that's something for business owners to be aware of not civilians.

I don't think they're idiots at all.
But partisan bias can get the best
of otherwise rational people.

No, if it got the best of them they're just pretending to be rational at some point. They're completely stupid and broken sheep, lol. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

what they did is not the topic of this thread.

That didn't go so well.

The topic of this thread is why is Ms. Pelosi getting all the attention when Mr. Trump seems to have committed the greater transgression? Is it because American's are far more scandalized by what someone who does not routinely flaunt the rules does than they are by someone who daily flaunts the rules?

Well one factor here is that it's virtually impossible to keep up with Trump's transgressions. People don't have time to digest the things he says and does before something new comes up. This means that the majority of Trump stories (with a couple of exceptions, such as Ukraine) are only subject to a cursory examination by both the media and the general public. Even RF has trouble keeping Trump threads going for very long before there's a new one. This is on a forum that's had a Brexit thread steadily plodding along since 2017!

Pelosi on the other hand is pretty much a normal politician as far as transgressions and media coverage go. She'll screw up every so often and her transgressions will be covered in the media and discussed among the public. It'll be just about long enough until her next screw up for the story to be thoroughly examined from every angle. When it comes to pro-Trump media outlets in particular, the comparatively infrequent transgressions on the Democrat side are something to be savoured.

Whatever the case, this is a sign we're screwed.

Just one of many, frankly.

Humans aren't ever 100% rational. I'm sure that if they
manage to earn a living, they are being rational to some
extent. But politics, like religion, can cause a disconnect
from reality.

It must really gall you to watch this idiot, this buffoon, this moron on TV presiding over the United States knowing there's not a damn thing you can do about it. It must be just as painful knowing that the Democrats are asking you to choose an even bigger idiot, buffoon, and moron as your presidential choice. It must also keep you up at night knowing deep down, that you're probably looking at another four years of Trump. Sucks to be you...my life is good.
No, it doesn't suck to be me. I'm Canadian. It just saddens me to see my next door neighbour make such patently ridiculous choices about their own leadership. As @Revoltingest said, there were lots better choices, this time and last time, on both sides. You guys just didn't make any good choices in selecting candidates to run against one another, so how on earth can you expect to make a "good choice" when your previous bad choices are all you've got to pick from?

What? Me worry?

Canada’s response to the pandemic hasn’t been perfect – Quebec and Ontario suffered substantial outbreaks, authorities enlisted soldiers to help in hard-hit long-term care facilities, and Mexico was so concerned about conditions on farms that it threatened to hold back its migrant workers.

Still, the country has fared far better than the United States. The close allies share similar connections to initial hot spots in China and Europe and confirmed their first cases within a week of each other in January. But the United States has since reported more than three times as many total infections per capita, and nearly twice as many deaths.

Canada's imperfect COVID-19 response is still better than the U.S. | National Post

Hey, you're right! Now come and arrest us (hahaha)...
If you send in a mail ballot and vote in person, we will.

The Trump rhetoric that you should vote by mail and then (now he says) go to the polls and see if your ballot has been counted, is BS. The poll workers have no way of knowing if your mail-in has already been counted. Trump knows that. Why do you continue to support a slime-ball?

It seems there's much objection to addressing what Pelosi did.
Perhaps RF members don't think there is anything worthy of objection. It's not like she encouraged people to violate elections laws like your Orange slime-ball did.

Uh oh....I expected snark when I saw that alert.
Yet another attempt to deflect Pelosi's faux pas,
making it about Trump instead. I thought it de
minimis, but reactions from her & her allies are
keeping it alive & festering.

Hey, do you guys meet to organize whataboutizing
every criticism of a cherished Democrat? Ya know,
he's really your President. I only voted for him.
But you created circumstances leading to his win.

The owner released the surveillance video to the media, they lied to her and told her state law permitted one client to be treated inside at a time, and by the way Pelosi was socially distanced when she was pictured without the mask, and no one is claiming she wasn't wearing a mask when she sat in the chair.

It sure does seem like some kind of set up, and Pelosi never broke any law, the salon did.
Yeah, well, they don't release the tapes of all the other clients.....so that tells the story, doesn't it?

According to the most plausible news report I heard,
Pelosi asked the stylist if she could get her hair done if alone. Stylist said she'd ask the owner. Owner said yes, then went and turned on security cameras. Got her film.

Then went straight to Fox and sold the footage. Which got played at a White House press briefing.
But the owner actually broke the law by agreeing to open the store, and the benefited from doing so.

So yeah, Pelosi should have done things differently. The optics were terrible. But the owner both broke the law and benefited from it. I have absolutely no sympathy for her, no matter how many death threats she gets. And I don't really care about some bigwig using their clout.

C'mon, this are the Trump Years.

"whataboutizing"? Really! You Trump supporters bring up Obama and both Clintons when your orange God is criticized. You guys may not have invented whataboutizing, but you sure do use it constantly.

But wait! There's more (money that is).

A fundraising page for the owner of a San Francisco hair salon at the center of controversy regarding an appointment by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has raised over $150,000.

I guess now she can afford to keep her salon closed.
