People, in my experience, are basically self serving and live in delusion. They think they're one way, when they're often the complete opposite. For example, my sister saying, "I hate selfish people" when she's one of the most selfish people I know.

I'm equally as guilty.

Which, according to your theory, means you're not. :p

I think people are basically good,I remember a few years ago I ordered a pecan picker uper,a thing that picks up the zillion pecans I have in my yard,I recieved it 2 days after I ordered it so I call the nut guy, I tell him the check I sent has not cleared,he tells me he always ships as soon as the order is recieved, and in 35 years of selling these products he has had only 1 bad check, I also ebay some and have never been riped off.

People are basically human. In other words, I agree with Patty.

In systems that are confined to notions of good and bad, human animals would be basically good... just like everything else. Otherwise the concept is irrelevant. Things are what they are.

I dont believe its only a "concept".Some things are innate. If there was no "pre-prescribed" "notion" of good and bad that we teach our children ....I think one would be created quickly by humans yet again.

Generally people are good; most often they mean well. The problems is: good intent does not always produce good.
