I used to respond and play along and clarify things just to see how far they would take it. To see how petty they were, but I don't do that anymore. Haha I'm sure some people fully understand what is being said or written but just do it to get a rise out out of people. What a sad person that is

People that I'm talking about get more semantical than grammatical. Their just weirdos. Sure yeah someone's sentence may not be semantically correct but the meaning can be easily deciphered from context. Ya know when one sentence can mean two different things.

Not really an issue here, but the words "pick apart" reminds me of a posting style I saw sometimes elsewhere many suns ago. Visually, it shreds the writer's words; sentences are addressed one by one without consideration for the paragraph they are nested within. Taking a single sentence of a paragraph out of context like this means one misconstrues the intended point of the writer. I saw this employed routinely by bad-faith actors of other fora as a way of bullying dissenting views off the site. And it worked.

This, perhaps, isn't what you are talking about, though; maybe in a similar vein?
