More is a great soundtrack, far, far greater than the movie it was done for. Ditto Zabrieski Point. My first experience with Obscured by clouds was live in 1973. The title track was the opening song of the concert ... but was amalgamated with "Speak to me" all culminating into "Breathe" and the rest of the Dark Side of the Moon album. IT was an awesome combination.

Are you serious? It is the sign of a failed culture when the youth no longer likes rock. Mainstream pop and rap garbage isn't even real music; it has no artistic merit. What ever happened to having taste and appreciation for stuff of depth and substance?

Dude I really wish I knew the answer to that. It seems like in my generation, music is all about catchy hooks and meaningless lyrics :/

I've listened to Floyd so many times I just can't anymore. If one of their songs comes on the radio I change it. I still love the band and their music but all I did from like 16 to 21 was listen to their albums daily.

I've always found it funny that people associate them as a stoner band because I could never stand listening to them when I was high. But I feel that way about a lot of "drug bands" (grateful dead, etc) and I get kind of puzzled when I hear someone say how they didn't know how terrible these bands where when they are sober. I'm not sure what it says about my state of mind.

Anyways, love the Waters solo stuff too. I also think Syd Barrett is a bit overrated.

I wouldn't be too harsh on today's kids. Every generations mainstream tends to like crap, mostly because cliquishness and style is revered over what's actually good. It takes time to wash away the garbage and find what is truly timeless.
