Planning on getting my lip pierced.

It doesn't hurt too bad (it actually made me really super horny), but eating may be difficult for a day or two as the muscles of your lip are moved around.
And do not use neosporin or hydrogen peroxide on it. These will hinder healing. Instead use a mixture of water and sea salt to clean it. And clean it often, especially during the first couple weeks.
Healing will take approximately six to eight weeks.
Do watch playing with it, and especially rubbing it up against your teeth.

There are different kinds.
Don't use the ones that punch multiple holes simlutaneiously....they don't have enuf clearance.
This type will handle lips & ears of any normal human thickness....
Just twist as you punch, & have plenty'o paper towels handy.

I was wondering...... if I had a 3" copper bullring through my nose, that punch wouldn't be any good 'cos a clipper-type punch would be required to apply pressure to either side of the nostril wall.

But the biggest question is...... could I pull the middle age chicks if I had it done? I'm a very young 69 so age just isn't a problem. I mean, yer ain't old 'til yer seventy.

The problem with hanging one of these through the courtin' tackle is that it doesn''t draw attention when out shoppin' etc.

Please don't mention this to Mrs Badger. It's awful painful when she gets emotional.

I forgot to add, most parlors will not put in outside jewelry. This covers them, as they can say they know what was put in your new piercing, and it will be surgical stainless steel. Give it at least a couple months before you try to change it.
And don't let others talk you out of it or let their opinions make you think it looks bad or looks dumb. It is your decision, and ultimately most "objections" are nothing more than projections and opinions, nothing factual or concrete. According to many nay-sayers, my eyebrow should have pretty much rotted off by now because, according to them, eyebrow piercings are very difficult to take care of, get infected extremely easily, and are hard to keep. The only "hard part" of mine was when I got it, went out of the parlor, got in my car, just started to drive off and had to turn around because I had another round of bleeding that had me going back in for a piece of gauze to wipe the blood with, and they gave me a few extras encase it happened again before fully clotted.
The lip heals just fine and with minimal problems as long you don't touch it and keep it clean.
Honestly, my industrial has given me the hardest time with healing because if the way my hair is around the top hole/barbell.
Next is either my nose or nipples. :D

If you get your nose done, avoid getting sick!

Both my oldest sister and I had gotten our noses pierced, within four days we both had nasty colds. Not the most fun or clean thing I had to deal with.

Good point!

On my birthday this year I want to get my lip pierced. What are the things I should know when I get it?
I think it would be sufficient to know that when you actually get your lip pierced, you will be breaking one of the laws of Moses, who claims to have received this commandment from God Himself. I hope your piercing makes you feel better about yourself. While I don't know of anyone who has felt better by breaking God's commandments, it may very well be that you'll be the first.

Gods influence wouldn’t make any difference in my decision-making capabilities, but my self-preservation instinct would be enough on its own.

Indeed, that should be enough. But for those who do not care for themselves to the extent that you do, considering the moral principles established by God might be of some benefit in making such decisions.

I hate making assumptions, but when a member chooses her screen name as Luciferi Baphoment, and lists "Theistic Luciferian Satanists" and her religion, and lists her location as "In paradise with Lucifer and Lilith," I think we can very safely assume this person gives not one crap about what the law of Moses says.

Actually, all of my piercings have felt good. Breaking the Sabbath sometimes feels good (depends on the work). Eating seafood is amazing. Sometimes even wearing mixed fabrics makes me feel good, as does wearing adornments. And it makes me feel great challenging the patriarchal structure of the Bible, despite it being "God's commandment." Sex outside of marriage can also be pretty wonderful as well.

Yes, I considered that when I gave my response, but I hate making assumptions about people as well.

I'll put it this way:
I live out in the country. Here I need no building permits to build, there are no noise ordinances, and we can even shoot our guns in our backyards provided we have the space and are being safe about it. In city-limits about nine or 10 miles away, you need building permits to build or add on, quiet time starts around 9 or 10 PM (later on Friday and Saturday), and you cannot shoot your guns in your backyard.
Being at my own home, why would I have any concern about laws in another area if I want to blast heavy metal music from some speakers while shooting my shotgun? Some of the parties we throw out here would be very illegal in the cities with the attendance and noise and would be shut down early, but our here there is live music and lots of noise well into the wee hours of the morning. But it's not a crime for us, we don't think of it as a crime, and legalities aren't a concern (except for those bringing illicit drugs).

Of course... at least you will be without excuse on the day of judgment.

Someone asked for advice. I gave my advice. You are free to question my advice, and you are free to give your own advice. I am quite certain that many people are fully capable of justifying their actions, whatever those actions might be. And it seems that you have justified your own behaviors. But now you are advising others, and it is my opinion that you shall be held accountable to God for the advice you give to others.

You just need a backing block on the far side of the nostril.
Then punch away!
(It's actually a pushing & turning motion.)

So.....do you like 69?
Don't answer.

She's a Satanist. I doubt she gives a **** what Moses said.

On the other hand, I'm a Christian and I doubt God gives a **** about my labret, septum piercing and stretched lobes.
