I have a brilliant idea!
Ask around about a free, confidential legal call centre.
I was in the UK illegally for a year. Long story! But I needed legal advice before I left and I was given a number of a call centre. This call centre is TOTALLY anonymous. Its a bunch of lawyers who volunteer to take calls on an anonymous basis and can give you information regarding anything, without needing your name or contact details.
Please trust me, if you can get hold of this number, I guarantee that no harm will come to your friend.
Good luck!
