Poem - Duality

NobodyYouKnow

Misanthropist
...by 'me'.

Duality.

Two steps from Salvation,
One from insanity,
The mind, convoluted, twisting thought upon itself,
The rope of existence just ripe for the severing.

Feedback looping grows intense,
Chewing my flesh to the bone to stave off hunger,
Thoughts to the non-corporeal to stave off thinking,
Being or non-being? Why dear Hamlet?
Did we forget who we are?

In the embrace of the Beloved, the lover forgets,
To remain in that embrace is ever fleeting.
Those convoluted, twisted shadows give rise to form,
All emotion dissolves,
Only the mere perception of love remains.

Two steps from Salvation,
One from insanity,
Dispassion towards existence, apathy towards creation,
The hollow, naked gourd, just ripe for the severing.

Yet I have fallen from the vine and left to rot on the ground.

All emotion dissolves,
Only the perception of love remains. - NYK
