Here's a very clear example of cops pulling cars over
(without any violation) to fish for violations, cash, &
whatever interests them. They don't need probable
cause to take the guy's money. The mere existence
of cash is sufficient reason to take & keep it.
Why do it?
Because the cop's department gets to keep
most of it, with a portion going to the feds.
They don't ever give it back unless sued.
This costs so much money that many people
just give up.
