Politic-O-Matic!

2012 Election Center | Political Quiz |Political Views Quiz| What Political Party Am I? | Political Party Quiz - Beliefnet.com
Even if you don’t know where your political affiliations fall, Politic-O-Matic knows! Answer a few questions about your feelings on religion, marriage, healthcare, the economy, taxes, the role of government, and more, and Politic-O-Matic will tell you which famous personality your political alliances most match.

Okay, just like the "Belief-O-Matic" works, in fact, it's the same site. Due to the title I thought it might give political parties too, but it doesn't really, here's the result I got:

8F21A306D1D442B7A6E12EFACCC548C2.ashx

Despite leaning towards the liberal side of the fence, you favor moderation in most things. You’re deeply concerned about social issues such as welfare, health care, immigration, and environmentalism, but rather than fight to the death for your beliefs, your approach is much more balanced. You recognize that many programs are in need of serious reform, and you try to be the calm voice of reason in the midst of extreme points of view, especially in matters of fiscal responsibility. Although the government has a deep responsibility to take care of its citizens, it can’t spend Spend SPEND itself into the ground to do so. As a side note, you’re also pretty good with a budget.

I'm curious what some of the other results they have are.

This survey is bogus. The survey questions are ambiguous and poorly worded. I had to give up after the fourth question.

Two choices from Q 1)
A) My spiritual beliefs are just some of the many factors I consider when making decisions.
B)I don't believe in God, therefore I make my decisions based on factors other than spiritual ones.
B is a non-sequitur, plus I don't see why both wouldn't apply to me.

From #2:
It should be legal to pray in school.
It is legal and no-one, to my knowledge would forbid it. The controversy is over its being included in the curriculum.

From #4:
No-one should be able to tell a woman what she can or can't do with her body.
This would apply to suicide prevention, dietary information, &c, but not to abortion. (which was the subject being surveyed). Few would object to suicide intervention.
The controversy over abortion involves what a woman can or can't do to another person -- the foetus -- not to her own body.
If you believe the foetus a person then aborting it would be tantamount to murdering a man on the street who's inconveniencing you in some way. Few would object to preventing murder.

I'm assuming the survey goes on with these ambiguities and non-sequiturs.

I know some of the questions and responses were a bit difficult or poorly worded, but I just went with the best as I could pick. I just figured it would be fun. The praying in school one definitely could have been worded differently as my reaction to it was "it is legal" as well. Maybe I just should have placed this under the games/quizzes area instead as it is just meant for fun.

Maybe the whole survey should be reworded. I could take it twice, giving honest but different answers each time, and I'll bet I'd get two very different results.

Wow. Mine came out so completely wrong it's not even funny. I'm not a conservative. Well, I may be conservative in the sense of what it used to mean in the old school (e.g., don't spend more than you make), but not with what it means in today's context.

Which person does it give you. It probably meant older style

Abraham Lincoln. I was floored by the suggestion that I support "traditional marriage" when I not only support homosexual unions, I support polyamorous unions.

Barack Obama liberal.
That's about right I suppose.
It’s no secret that you’re a liberal. You’re strict when it comes to regulating big business, but lenient when it comes to individual freedoms. The right to marry whom you want; the right of a woman to choose what she does with her body; the right to privacy; and the right to free health care are all freedoms you’re willing to fight passionately for. You’re also willing to expend the financial resources necessary to accomplish those goals. That might include some difficult decisions about raising taxes, but when it comes to our rights and freedoms, no price is too high to pay.

Hmm, doesn't seem like a lot of his views match up with mine, some of this article makes him seem like a bit of an *** actually lol.
That's what I think people remember about him, IIRC - and I was young - he was very financially oriented. But I don't really recall any of his other positions. I mostly remember parodies of him.
