The Three Most fundamentally Human Levels of Politics According to God's Loyal Opposition:

1) The Transient Level.

2) The Core Values and Views Level

3) The Universal Human Nature Level
The Transient Level is comprised of all political activity and political views that conceivably have a beginning and an end to them. These things include just about everything likely to be reported as 'news' by any reputable media outlet, including smaller, less influential, and usually newer outlets. e.g. the day's political events, the current political thinking, the goals, dreams, and ambitions of people that can be achieved to any extent through political means, the nuts and bolts of how politics is done, and so forth.

The Core Values and Views Level is comprised of the DNA-based split between people who are born more curious about the world and the future than scared of it, and people who are born more scared about the world and the future than curious of it. DO NOT CONFUSE OR CONFLATE THE SIDES WITH 'GOOD' OR 'BAD'.

There is no realistic division of the two camps into good versus bad, and every attempt to divide them into us versus them relies on being inadequate at figuring out well enough the basic differences between the Transient Level and the Core Values and Views Level. Confusing the two levels is the only reason anyone thinks politics is us versus them at this level.

The differences between the camps boils down to something like the differences in how you would typically and effectively use a hammer and a screwdriver. One view or attitude towards reality is better for some jobs, while the other view or attitude is better for others.

The Universal Human Nature Level is again DNA-based and is comprised of how our genes manifest themselves in our behavior. It should be understood, there is nothing humans do that is not at least partly a product of human genes.
The above model has helped me understand politics, both current and historical, in ways that are better at predicting what is most likely to happen next or otherwise in the future. It is far from perfectly useful for that.

I have found that factoring into the picture the influence of wealth (broadly understood as 'financial and economic wealth'), along with the stratification, or hierarchical structure of our societies, I am able to get a much clearer and more reliable tool for figuring out what's next, etc.

If this makes sense to you, then it's worth bearing in mind here. The above is not an hypothesis, but a model.

Hope this helps. Calling dibs on being first to be astonished if it does.

1) The Transient Level.
People focus on what's on the news today and will have forgotten about it tomorrow.
2) The Core Values and Views Level
People are either neophobe ("don't change anything, it's only going to be worse") or neophile ("we want change and we want it now - but we won't change ourselves").
3) The Universal Human Nature Level
People are stupid, selfish and lazy.

Did that help to make it a bit clearer?
