Probably not an easy question to answer, but what is your impression as to some things aiding the image of Islam, as often purportedly being a peaceful religion, opposed to those that which perhaps the majority of the non-Muslim world would see as damaging this image?

Things like - the wealth of many majority Muslim countries being used to project a 'good' image, and other such as opposed, often showing an entirely different aspect, like the troubles in Afghanistan and Iran seemingly showing a nastier side, even if it is just the regime in control doing this.

And this isn't just confined to two countries that might be so obvious, given the restrictions and/or lack of freedoms in so many other majority Muslim countries.

If Islamic countries bribe politicians such as members of the European Parliament to polish up their public image, then these countries are certainly on the winning track as far as their image is concerned. (Although this method is not something done exclusively by Islamic countries, to be fair).

I put losing, because it's only hurting itself. It's clear that there was Islamic art in the past, and that one of the branches of Islam is far more liberal than the other. The ultra-conservative branch of Islam (forgive me, I don't know which one is which) is harming Islam in it's rigorous tightening of the iron fist.

Other - winning the image battle with whom? Be very specific. There's literally been polling done for this question in various countries. We can look it up.

Not really much Muslim presence in S. Florida. About 5 years ago there was a Muslim temple in White City that was burned down.
There is however a Christian church every few blocks.

I voted "other" because image is very much a product of the media which for the most part pumps up the sensational and ignores the quiet behavior of most. This is also true of Christians FWIW.

Look at the countries that are in the news: Afghanistan and Iran first and foremost. Add to that a few who have achieved notoriety for something or other and the image that is projected reflects that minority.

It's typically only in the positive news websites I frequent that a different perspective can find a home.

The real question to me is what changes are occurring in the thoughts and especially actions of Muslims as a whole considering every nation and how are those changing over time. I don't have a good answer to that question, but to me it's the important one.

They pray five times a day, they take fasting seriously, modesty and families are important to them. I am a Catholic and have learned much about my faith from them.

Winning or loosing is only important through the eyes of God.

Your poll is worthless.
