I am a Hindu of the shAkalya shAkhA theological school of thought; and my dharma: kalpa-shikshA.

*astika = basically having a belief in God/Goddess, God-s/Goddesses, through seeing the Veda-s as Divine in their orientation and origin

There's no set number, we're basically just looking for the majority opinion.

A good rule of thumb is to leave the poll up for 2 weeks and take it from there.

By then, anyone who hasn't voted probably isn't going to.

Purple = Theist
Yellow-= Non-theist <---(Yellow = Non-theist)
Black = Member/non-specified as theist or non/theist


Turquoise= Member Committee
Brown = Moderator in Training
Blue = Super Moderator
Red = Administrator
Green = Moderator on Sabbatical
Maroon = Administrator Emeritus

And white (white) = really, really shy people.

I say the later is 1000 times worse. Hindus come into the HinduismDIR to discuss, express, share in Hinduism, not be told they are not a Hindu nor allowed to be a Hindu because of their birth.

In fact, telling other Hindus in the HinduismDIR forum that they are not allowed to be Hindu or engage in Hindu rites is harassment and so much worse than the first example of a non-Hindu asking a question, that in my opinion these types should not be allowed in the HinduismDIR.

Many hindus believe that & Majority of Non-hindus don't believe in that .

This is hinduism forum . So hindus have first preference . Hindu born people should be identified here in something different way . That's my request to Admin/moderators .

ShivaFan is Hindu. He's been Hindu for longer than I have been alive. He's married to a Gujarati Hindu, has taken initiation samskara-s, does pUjA daily, is a mandir attendee, a consistent donor/philanthropist to Hindu organizations and mandir-s, amongst numerous other things.

This thread is not for "Hindu born people". This thread is for astika-s, and astika-s only.

As far as I know only one person here cares about that. I know if I was the only person out of 40 that cared about something passionately while the other 39 didn't, I'd drop it.

I agree; Hinduism(luvs)Krishna's obsession with birth is ridiculously stupid and probably very offensive to so-called non-"Hindu-born" (to use his terminology) people like you, shivafan, NYK, and others. Besides, how could you tell online if someone is "Hindu born" anyway, and what about different scenarios? Even though I consider myself culturally "Indian" and my parents are kShatriya by varNa, I was born in Pakistan and not bhArat, I was a sikh for the first 11 or so years of my life, and even genetically, I'm primarily Iranian and not Indian. Do I count? Probably not. Oh, and what about other Hindus not born in India, like those in nepAl and bali or Indian origin Hindus who no longer live in bhArat? Ultimately, what's the point?
