Baby Jesus or Santa?

For me it has to be Santa, or Father Christmas as I prefer to call him

To me Christmas has little to do with religion although obviously it is named after Jesus

Jesus. I don't care about Santa and never believed in him, even as a kid. The stories can be fun but it's a children's thing.

I stopped believing in God before I stopped believing in Santa

I had more reason to believe in Santa as the presents he left counted as evidence for me

For me, a birthday is just an arbitrary number on a calendar, so I'm not much for celebrating them.

Though I understand the religious aspect of the holiday, I went with Santa for my response, because this will be the third year I've dressed as Santa for my granddaughter, and those closest to me that I celebrate with are not Christian, so the celebration is the traditional exchanging of gifts and Santa leaving gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve.

Neither, but since I'm not Christian my vote should surprise no one.

The first thing I think of is actually consumerism. Excessive, unbridled, wanton materialistic consumerism.

Me too although I have found that it is possible to have a less consumerist Christmas

I try and make it be more about family and friends

I think that is the third way, in-between consumerism and religion

Neither, I stopped believing in Santa before i stopped believing in Jesus (as depicted in rhe bible) but both had gone from my mind by mid teens.

Of the two, it's definitely Santa. Probably because images of Santa are plastered everywhere throughout December. He just became a part of my immediate mental picture of Christmas alongside snow, reindeer and tinsel.

Can't vote, because neither of them do. Basically, I don't like Christmas. Foster homes, orphanages and living on the streets (when everything closes down and Christmas and there's truly nowhere to go) made it pretty hateful to me. I tried, for quite a few years after I found my own way, to host a "waif's Christmas" every year for people who, like me, had nowhere else to go. Now, I just try to find any bar that stays open and will serve me beer. There aren't many...
