Poor Cop Training: Defend Each Other No Matter What

Unarmed guy goes to school to pick up younger brother.
He mistakenly approaches the wrong car, thinking it's his.
Cops are called.
Cops confront & escalate.
He's dragged out of his car & shot.
Cops offer him no assistance.
He dies.
Cops investigate themselves, & find that killing him was proper.
Immediate independent investigation is necessary in any
complaint, beating, shooting, or killing. Cops cannot be
trusted to investigate their friends & co-workers.

Do you know how many cops are ambushed or shot without warning? Who will defend them if they don't defend each other? Yes there are a few bad cops but you can't call them all bad for defending themselves from the hazards of the job.

I don't. But you could tell us.
Policing is one of the safer jobs in USA.
It ranks #25, far behind fishing, roofing,
& even management of various trades.

Who will defend them if they don't defend each other?

Their attorneys, when they're accused of crimes
should be the ones defending them.
They shouldn't have some blue wall behind which
they investigate & protect themselves. That's a
recipe for corruption.
When Philip Brailsford executed Daniel Shaver in cold
blood, his department said he did as he was trained.
Problem: He was trained to hunt & kill humans.
So there you have an entire department of bad cops.

Yes there are a few bad cops but you can't call them all bad for defending themselves from the hazards of the job.

If you watch many youtube videos of cops behaving
illegally & brutally, you'll see that most cops will
stand by, & not interfere, when another cop does
wrong. This makes most cops "bad cops".

BTW, I've posted examples of exemplary cops
to show what a "good cop" does when dealing
with the public, & when other cops go bad.

That possibility has been there. Didn't happen to me, but it doesn't happen to the bulk majority of cops either.

You don't have a plethora of unions
running a massive PR operation.
