I hate when this happens.
You need to insert the URL of the image in between these brackets:
[img ]*insert URL here*[/ img] (Without spaces.)
The forum software will recognize it as a picture rather than a link.

The forum software can be tricky at first. It's not "stupid" to make a mistake or two while learning it.

Done! Also, to embed videos, you just need to paste the YouTube link as is. No need for an embedding code, unlike with images.

You can also "upload file", pick your file, thumbnail or full and it will post in this box. I can't find image links anymore so I just do it that way
