Posting changes?

Malus 12:9

Temporarily Deactive.
When you look back at when you first came to RF, have your posts changed? Your way
of posting etc? Has being in the RF (or any) changed your way of posting or opinionating, or the way you debate? I found that after a while of posting at here and the other lady's religion forum that I have a little.

Not much. Not really. I'd say no. I realized a long time ago that most people are not going to change their minds based on a few words posted on a website, so I post my views, perhaps a source to support them, maybe answer a rebuttal or two, then I move on to the next thread. IMHO, continuing to post and argue with someone who wasn't open to my point of view in the first place isn't worth my time.:)

Like you I tend not to debate. I continue with posts as long as some one wants clarification, or as long a I am learning someting, or sometimes to give support to a view that needs it.

I try (keyword being try) to not make any logical fallacies... I have Duet--oops, Jayhawker--to thank for using those so often that I looked them up just to see what the heck they were.

I try hard to avoid the same thing Jensa, apart from that, I'm much the same.

I, on the other hand, assiduously try to make every logical error
I can...just to aggravate Jaywalker.

A little bit off topic, maybe, but not a lot...

One thing I wish I'd done differently is not state my religion, or maybe just state it as Christian instead of specifically LDS. That way, I would have been able to present my beliefs without having people think, "Oh, well she's LDS. We can dismiss her opinion without even considering it." I think I could have presented quite a bit of support for my ideas right out of the Bible and maybe prompted a few more people to think outside the box. Oh well... it's too late for that now.

I haven't learned a lot of really new things since I've been here, primarily because this is the upteenth forum I've posted on during the past eight or ten years. Most of what I've heard on this forum is just a rewording of something I've already heard elsewhere. I'm still waiting for someone to be able to explain the Trinity to my satisfaction. :D (I'm not going to hold my breath, though.)

This forum has, however, reinforced my already positive opinion of pagans. I hope I have learned to control my emotions when moderating. ;) If I have, I have Pah to thank. He has always made himself available to calm me down when I'm about ready to explode.

I guess the only religion I've really learned anything new about is Satanism. I still am not at all comfortable with many of their beliefs, but it's quite a relief that I don't have to lock up my pets to keep them from being sacrificed! :D

A good question! That's actually part of why I'm thinking of an avatar-change. My opinions haven't changed much over my time here, but my way of expressing them has. I feel more comfortable telling someone that I don't think they're being very nice. (Which doesn't mean that it's not still very difficult for me to do so.)

you honour us with your presense here, jewscout

i dont think my posts have changed much

when i first came here i put a few posts on that a lot of people seemed to like, and got stupid ammounts of fruballs

and believe it or not, i still get big strings of fruballs on a few of my posts

i don't see the need to change, if ive already reached the perfect combination or scabbing fruballs :D

seriously though

yes i have changed

ive learnet to express views in different ammounts of assertiveness, and ive learnt to walk on eggshells without making too much mess :bonk:
