Potential GREAT Candidates for 2028

Because the parties have a habit of presenting the voters with loser candidates (yes - both sides have done so, at least recently), let's start a list of people we, the People of RF, believe would make great candidates for the 2028 presidential election. Candidates from all parties welcome!

Both sides have done so the last three elections IMO.
A for who I would pick, don't know yet.

Do you actually believe there will be a fair election in 2028? Pretty sure democracy is dead

And since it's my thread, I'll start!

Pete Buttigieg

Gretchen Whitmer

Glen Youngkin
I like all three, but I think that right now Youngkin would be the only one with a chance. One of the problems with the last election was that the Democrats cannot lie as effectively as the Republicans. They made a mistake when it came to inflation. Rather than assuming that people are rather stupid they should have explained how prices will not go down. The Democrats were lying when they tried to claim that they would reduce prices and they are just not the convincing liars that Republicans can be. They should have educated rather than lied. That the inflation we saw globally was a result of the pandemic and the spending needed that both parties supported at the time. Plus since it was worldwide inflation they should have tooted their own horn a bit more showing how we had better control of it than just about any other country and that we were almost back to normal. Prices were not going to go back down but with their policies employment was up and that would increase supply and purchasing power. in other words we would get over it soon.

Now the people will have forgotten and not blame Trump when he does not do anything about increased prices.

My pick for the Democrats would probably be AOC. Not sure how electable she would be nationwide, but in a perfect world, I think she should be pres or VP.

I think a shift to the left by the Democrats would help them to actually stand for something instead of trying to sell themselves just on not being Republicans.

Interesting. I have thought that simply being something that we (liberals) think is good, and selling it, might be better than simply trying to blow with every wind. Bernie would be, and has always been, the politician that I admire most. His policies are closer to my mine then any of these "Republicans Lite" and he always says what he honestly thinks, no BS. He's old though, and I'm not sure how many effective years he has left.

What does everyone think of splitting both parties? Democrats as now, Progressives, MAGA, and old style Republicans? It would be interesting to see how the votes would fall. Four parties, none of which had total control, would friggin' force them to compromise.
