I recognize that folks are entitled to a POV. But what about the uninformed one? I think there is a range regarding validity here. I might have a POV on how to play a cello, but is my POV as valid as Yo Yo Ma's? A person can speak about another religion by reading a paragraph from Wiki, or a person can be a practitioner and student of said religion for 50 years. Who has the more valid POV, or do you think they're equal?

Depends. Are we talking about conversation with friends at a bar or a scientific thesis undergoing the rigors of peer review?

People are entitled to their *informed* opinions, not to unexamined nonsense, if they want to be taken seriously. Everyone who can Google thinks they're an expert, or worse YouTube "researchers" who form opinions based on garbage.

Apparently some folks wish not to be taken seriously.

It depends. Who has the most valid POV (assuming accuracy is the criterion), a flat earther that can quote every argument and every bit of pseudo science that has ever been put forward by flat earthers, or someone that takes one look at it and says it's BS? The flat earther is definitely the best informed about flat earth beliefs, and in many cases the other guy might not immediately have the scientific knowledge to know exactly why a given argument is incorrect, but which is the most valid conclusion?
