Pray Always (Scriptures on Prayer)

Prayer is a very important aspect of Christian life. We pray to our God to ask forgiveness, too seek blessings and to give gratitude.

What are some of your favorite scriptures on prayer? Could be from ANY book of scripture.

One of my favorites was the Doctrine and Covenants (specific to LDS theology) that I came upon this morning while studying.

"Pray always, that you may come off conqueror; yea that you may conquer Satan, and that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold this work." (Doctrine and Covenants 10:5)

---------------

To me this shows the importance of prayer, that we must pray always and continually in our hearts, in our lives and wherever we go so that we can have strength from the Lord to overcome the evil one.

Jesus loves you
Rom 8v26: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

This reminds me that those in whom the Spirit of God lives has Him as their helper and intercessor in prayer and says the things to God which we ought to say but our words are unable to express though our Spirit groans to express them.
