Prayer

I'm not sure if chanting is technically praying, but I do chant the pavamana mantra and ॐ durning meditation. My meditation takes place every morning immediately after brushing my teeth and showering, before I do anything else for the day.

Location is usually in front of my shrine in my living room because it's practical, but location isn't all that important for my meditation.

What's your favourite time and place to pray? Do you prefer set prayer or freer kinds?

Either inside in the early morning, outside facing the Sunrise in the early morning, or some quiet place on a walk during the day like a park or a cemetery. I prefer set prayer I suppose when it's done well (like the Psalms) although free-form kinds are necessary also in my opinion.

First thing in the morning, last thing at night.

And any time during the day when I need to clear a channel, but I often forget I can do this, and get really stressed and uncomfortable before I remember to...breath...and let God take charge of my life

Early morning, after coffee and showering. Also at the temple I go to whenever that happens to be.

Prayer is usually the first thing I do in the morning when I get out of bed.
And the other moment is usually in the late afternoon, around sunset.
My preferred place is at my own home, usually in the direction of a window.
The symbolism behind it is that the window is the direction where "The Heavenly Light comes in".

During ritual prayer I mainly use set prayers, but I can add spontaneous prayers as well.
The latter can be done anytime, actively or passively.

Late at night before bed is my time. But really many times during the day I take a second for a very short prayer.

Time: first thing in the morning.
Place: home.
Set/free style: both.

Some set prayers I use are traditional and standard repertoire, some I created by myself and change them from time to time.

I do my pujas at night because I'm more of an evening person than a morning person. And I like praying after puja, so usually, I do it in bed so I'm comfortable while praying before I fall asleep.

I pray in the morning during Puja (worship) and in the evening as well. My favorite to pray is the Shiva Chalisa, which I recite in the mornings. I'm not a morning person, but the discipline helps me and gets me ready for the day.

My favorite times to pray would be before beginning anything, whether eating, bathing, heading to work, or heading home. As to which type, I honestly admire both, but I suppose I prefer freer sorts of praying, being that they’re more reflective of my unorganized personality.
