People pray. Some get pushy. Some get offended.

Choices are above. A little explination of your choice would be nice :)

Prayer is good. Then again, Jesus didn't like some prayers, some can be out of place, pushy and some prayers can offend other people.

I don't think we can put it in a box?

1) Yes, unless God considers it not good;)
2) No, unless actions were more appropriate
3) If I explain "don't please" and they do it, well, it does explain a lot about them, and it should not offend me, after all "it's just their mental attitude"
4) yes, always fine to do prayers in private
5) No, we have "Freedom of Religion"
6) No, unless they force me to participate

My prayers are generally of the 'selfish' kind - they involve me praising God and seeking guidance for myself - rather than praying for someone else. I find it very beneficial for myself - a regular reminder of the need to remember God in my every waking moment.

As regards others praying, that doesn't offend me at all, whomever they pray to and for whatever purpose, so long as they are not forcing their particular mode of prayers down my or anyone else's throats.

When Jesus told his disciples to pray the "Our Father" prayer, what do you think he meant when he told them to pray, "Let your (thy) kingdom come?"

Prayer is an act of faith. Over all a very good thing. Can it be absurd sure I suppose if I had a loud speaker I could cause some harassment.

It is a personal thing and people have the right to pray to whatever they consider eligible to be prayed to, even Green Spaghetti Monster. For me, there is none to pray to, therefore, it is a waste of time and stupid.
(Explanation: I believe in non-duality, believing in existence of a sole entity which constitutes all things in the universe. I am that and so are you. There is no second to pray to)
No need to get pushy and get offended if someone prays or does not.

Praying can ne harmful if people use prayer as an excuse to ignore need.

1. Praying can be comforting, in that sense it can be good.
2. Public praying can be used to indoctrinate others in personal superstition, in that sense it can cause harm.
3. No, but if they publicly pray for my children in school it would offend me as I would see it as an attempt to indoctrinate.
4. What people do in private is their own business.
5. I don't take offence so long as they keep it out of schools and the government, both of which should ideally be free from religion.

In my opinion.

It comes in different flavors.
Imprecatory prayer is one.
Being ineffective, it doesn't really harm.
But it speaks volumes about the imprecateur.
(Pardon my French Froggish.
I put that in for @ChristineM.)
