Predators

What's your take on the newest movie in the Predators/Alien Franchise?

While it was good to see a new big of blood movie wise, I personally don't think it was an over the top movie, some of the kill sequences have been done before, but it was still an entertaining film.

I think that the detraction from previous movies was too significant.

1) The Predators don't seem to have as much of an advantage (Predator 1 and 2)

2) The Predators are significantly easier to kill - even the "big" one

3) The Predator can take on the Alien bare handed in the AVP movies. Now that's one tough son of a gun. But, a guy can kill one with a samari sword. It's cool, but if an Alien has trouble with a Predator, a shirtless Oriental guy is going to have a tough time killing one with a sword. I was constantly disappointed with this issue throughout the movie.

4) The Predators here have no sense of hunter's honor - not killing unarmed or uninjured people.

5) The Predators seem pretty stupid in this movie.

I liked it, but it is without question the worst Predator movie.

I agree with you, and with the part of them being pretty stupid.

I didn't like the use of the hunting animals so much. It seemed so.. unpredator-like.

Didn't have much of an atmosphere, either, and everyone was introduced to one another pretty quickly. I think they seemed to be rather trusting of a random strangers a bit too quickly.

I thought it was.... okay, I guess.
Just okay.

Still, I preferred it to AvP: Requiem...

Before reading this, I was kinda interested in seeing the movie (despite the lack of AH-nold). Not anymore.

Shame. I was looking forward to seeing Predators on the big screen; I wasn't there for the first two movies. Oh, well. Guess I have to wait another 20 years for them to make another one, and hope it doesn't suck.

Now, let's see if they can rape the Alien franchise any further.

It starts out pretty cool but goes downhill from there.

I went because if people don't spend money on these movies, they won't make 'em anymore. It's not a bad movie - it just deviates from the Predator character so much he's basically a stupid wimp.

If your finaincally unable to afford to enjoy this movie, I'd suggest watching it online, but not downloading it illegally.

How was Requiem? I enjoyed the original movies of both, and was so terribly excited by AvP that I was disappointed by its glitzy, less primitive-looking predators and the too-fast-for-the-naked-eye fight scenes.

I'm hesitant about Requiem.

I'm hesitant about Requiem.

I thought that the too-fast fights had some realism to it, according to the abilities of the Predator and Alien.

I haven't seen Requiem for a while, but I remember liking it.
