Predict the Presidential campaign

Who will be the Republican nominee? (Bonus points: Who will be their VP?)

Who will be the Democrat nominee? (Bonus points: Who will be their VP?)

Who will be President?

Looking back at old posts it's funny what people thought about the campaign a year ago.

It'd be nice to look back on this a few months from now, or a year from now, and see what people thought.

And if you're right, you will be granted shiny unlimited bragging rights. If you are wrong, then, well, don't be wrong.

I predict The Hilldebeast beating The Donald in the election.
Please prove me wrong.
Please!

What? Me worry?
Not really a prediction but I can envision Bernie winning the Dem nomination, having a heart attack somewhere in Nebraska, leaving his running mate-Gov. Jerry Brown-to finish the campaign.

We need @Old Scratch to weigh in.
(I think staff are too frightened of him to let him return.
His physical beauty is indeed a threat to some.)
Perhaps @Wirey can summon him.
(I've never seen them together in the same place at the same time.)

Let start with the Democrats. Hillary is in for a battle-royal. The once inevitable Hillary has ran up against a buzz-saw who is successfully tying her to Wall Street and as much as everyone dismisses her problems with email her trustworthiness has taken a plunge except for her staunch backers. The DNC and various media sources are backing Hillary to the fullest extent that they can without overtly (except for the media) seeming to do so. They say Hillary is counting on the backing of minorities, especially the African-American community, in the south and the Mexican-American community elsewhere(which I can't understand, but maybe Sanders is seen as just another white northerner...and Hillary isn't(?)) and the Unions will support the Hillary to their fullest extent.. I suspect if the DNC sees Sanders winning they will bring out Uncle Joe and Sanders will go down the tube. But I don't see the Hillary loosing. That is unless (and it is a remote possibility but still possible) that the Hillary is indicted then I see Uncle Joe come to the Democrats rescue.

Now to the Republicans. Nothing has really coalesced in this area. I think what happens in the New Hampshire primary will possibly winnow out some contenders but it will not show a true front runner. If Trump wins the primary it will be by a slim margin. The New Hampshire voters in the primary can vote for a Democrat or Republican. It will be interesting to see where the majority of votes are cast; will it be for Democrats or Republicans. I think that will be the most interesting aspect of this primary. Of course I could be well off my mark and Trumps win will be in double figures.

Now here is what will be probably be ridiculed. If the Hillary is the nomination she will be defeated. The reason for this is as follows:
It is well documented that the voting public is totally dissatisfied with the direction the country is taking. (look at any polls on the subject). The Hillary has tied her coattails to the Obama to combat Sanders. This may work for her in the primaries but it will be a disaster for her in the general election. The Republican candidate, whomever he or she is, will use this against her. And her problems with her server/emails, the reset with Russia, and her involvement in Libya, among many things will be an albatross around her neck.

I agree with it being too early.

Since we're just talking predictions I'm going to say either Cruz or Rubio for Republicans and Dems it's definitely going to be Hillary. Bernie is doing pretty good at giving a good fight but I don't think he can win when you count in more conservative/moderate areas and also super delegates. Last I saw Hillary was leading in that too. For VP I've heard some names floating around for the Dems. A Castro guy? I'm not that familiar with him (just recognize his name) so I can't remember his first name at the moment. And with the Republicans I think Cruz is going to be a VP (if not the nominee) for sure to get the evangelical vote. Gotta keep them coming back.
