Have you or anyone you know ever had a predictive dream or vision -- a dream or vision that in some sense foretold the future? If so, what was it?

Some long time ago, I spent a whole summer listening to people recount their predictive dreams (mostly). They seem to be fairly common.

My dad had a really amazing experience when he was 15. He was at a local swimming pool with some friends. I think he was waiting for his aunty to pick him up or something so he was looking toward the road and he saw the car come around the corner and smash into another vehicle that was entering the street. He saw his sister in the car as well. He said that he could also smell fumes and hear the sounds of the crash. He started freaking out and shouting for somebody to call an ambulence but his friend just looked at his strangely and thought he was going mad. Apparently nothing was there, nothign had happened. When dad looked back at the road nothing was there. But the next moment, the exact scene took place as he had seen it occur moments previously.

Quite interesting. Thanks for sharing that.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
If I dream about an airplane crash, it will happen exactly as I dreamed it within three days. I swear this is the truth.

I have only dreamed this sort of dream five or six times in my life, but every time I have, it's happened. After about the second time, I started telling friends and family the exact details so I could have some sort of witness to this weird phenomenon. After a particularly horrible airliner accident that I dreamed about, I prayed to have this dubious gift taken from me, since it was so upsetting - and I didn't dream another "airplane dream" for about five years.

The last one I had was about four years ago.

What irks me is WHY? I can't do anything to stop these accidents from happening, because I don't ever dream about what CAUSED the accident to begin with. What I dream about is location, type of airplane, whether or not there were survivors, that sort of thing.

Just for the record, I am not at all afraid of flying and have never dreamed about a crash before I flew anywhere. I fly several times a year and usually enjoy it.

So - I still don't know why I would dream that sort of thing. I guess it's kind of cool in a macabre way.

We were out camping this one time by a river that runs from the Rocky Mountains just west of Nordegg. My Dad had a dream he said about a small pond lined with skulls. The next day we went out fishing and my brother got really sick with Beaver Fever because he had drank some contaminated water from the creek.

I've collected numerous predictive dreams and visions. So far as I can tell, there is no apparent point to them. However, that might be a very difficult thing to relate to. Our mind so much wants things to have meaning.

Yeah. Little things, like breaking a coffee mug and knowing the exact pattern of the fragments.

Not much, but enough to make me believe in the possibility.

My Grandfather was born with a veil over his face. His visions related only to our family and personal property. Most of the time he wouldn't even notice when he said someting prophetic (for lack of a better word). Once he mentioned in passing conversation that he was glad that my Aunts leg was healing well. I asked him what he meant, becuase my Aunt had not broken her leg (I didn't tell him that though). He said "Remember, she slipped on the dock", 2 days later she did, and broke it in 2 places. It was scary at times beucase he would speak of things that had not happened as if they had occured days ago.

well you know how in scary movie's you always have someone reasure the people just before he gets wacked,

well i was in an amusement park and i was about to go on a ride when a small kid a little further back in the line got scared and stared to cry,
his mom said everythings going to be ok don't worry its save, "this is where i though o c this can't end well" (lets just say my ride ended with 14 stitches)

ps
if i had to do it over i probably would have, the face the kid made when i got out of the ride covered in blood was tottaly worth it

These things happen to a lot of people. Past, present, and future. It's good to have someone to share them with. Keep a journal. And list as many details as possible. It's a little spooky at first, but never be afraid to develop your minds. That's what they are for. Exploration.

I actually have them quite often and quite accurate. I've been freaking Meg out with them lately. :D

For instance, I had a dream one night that I was in my childhood house and it was burning. I was on the roof being tugged at by someone in a helicopter trying to save me, but I refused to leave because I needed to get something.

Next day at work, I heard on the radio of a house fire in the city next to my hometown where someone had to be forced on a helicopter because he refused to leave.

Never underestimate the desire of the human mind to find meaning in things.

I had a dream that predicted 9/11. Also, whenever I hear that someone is accused of a crime, I know if they are guilty or not, no matter how much the evidence seems to point in the opposite direction at first. Whenever I see a flag at half mast I know who is being mourned, even if they had not been ill. Sometimes I don't know the name though I just think " oh I bet it's a former attorney general of Minnesota" and so it is. I also have a prediction dream whenever a member of the British royal family dies before it happens (Diana, the Queen Mum, and Princess Margaret) and before the oldest person in the world dies (and what they were doing just before their deaths).

I believe these dreams happen because I had a couple. Once, was seeing the result of an anticipated boxing match several days before it's occurence. After that it was a dream about a tornado. I woke suddenly expecting to see one out of the window. But there was nothing. Eight hours later an F4 hit our city. It wasn't good. I haven't had any such dreams since but what was surreal about the dreams was that they did not feel like normal dreams when I woke up. They felt more real. Our area at the time wasn't well known for such storms. It would have been the last thing I would have thought of happening. Any reasons that I could see for this remains speculation.

Yes, I had a dream that someone was going to die, and couldn't sleep the whole night after that. The next morning we found out my brother's best friend had been murdered along with the whole family by their crazy dad.
