So, I just got my income tax check back, and I've gotta say, Doggam! It feels good to not be living with a deadbeat who doesn't have a job, and having to pay for EVERYTHING! I've finally been able to spend MY money on ME! It's been a very exciting day. So I've just bought myself these two little beauties...

Meet my 50" LG Plasma that I'll be picking up tomorrow:

AND this little baby that should be delivered within the next couple of weeks:

I have 47$ left hahaha! Yes, splurging, I know. But it's been a very long time since I was last able to splurge like this on myself, so I figured, why the hell not, right? I deserve to buy myself prezzies too! :D

Here, BB, from the futureshop website:

The LG 50PS30 plasma has Full HD 1080p output and a 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio ensure incredible detail and colour depth, while the 600Hz subfield drive delivers it all with the smoothest fluidity. It's the perfect display for HD sports and action movies

Important Specs at a Glance:

  • Full HD 1080p resolution (1920x1080 native resolution)
  • 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
  • 600Hz subfield drive
  • 3 HDMI inputs, 1 PC input, 1 USB 2.0 input
Combining a 600Hz subfield drive and a 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, this 50" Full HD 1080p LG plasma HDTV delivers HD content in an incredible way. Blacks are darker, whites are more vibrant, and you'll also enjoy detailed definition in every shade in-between. When it comes to video with fast-moving imagery, the LGPS30 delivers incredible performance with blur-free visuals.

It boasts an array of advanced sound technologies like Invisible Speaker which widens the listening sweet spot without the intrusive appearance of a large speaker grille. Clear Voice II technologies amplify audio capabilities which let you customize volume levels. The end result is lively, crystal-clear listening without a surround sound system.

It's got plenty of connectivity options, too: 3 HDMI inputs let you connect and enjoy all the latest high definition technology; a PC input lets you use the display as your computer monitor; and an integrated USB 2.0 port lets you play images and music by simply plugging in a USB flash drive loaded with your content.

That's the only stuff I can copy and paste in the specs area, for some reason. The rest won't paste. If ya wanna look it up though, it's the LG 50PS30.

Pfft. I've already got a Wii! I don't need a PS3 :p I might get an Xbox 360 though. We'll see.
But then, you can't play with me! :( Now i see your true colours!

Also, how much was the laptop? (if you dont mind saying) My mum recently got a Vaio with some upgraded specs for £300. Which is about $500. Is that a lot over there?

 What a rebate! Are you sure you filled out those tax forms correctly?

Well done!

I'm a single mom with a ten year old who, due to being born 2 and a half months early and under 4 lbs, has some health problems and has to go to the hospital semi-regularly, and who also had a lot of dental work done this year (damn grandparents and their over givingness of candy).

And I make good money.

Got my laptop in the mail today! Wooo!

Besides, I'm not the one who does my forms, I have an accountant do them.
