problem with a gift from mom?

My mother decided to give me a Xmas present early. She gave me some money and...

....the original Tomb Raider game.:biglaugh: She must have found it like at a second hand shop somewhere cos the case was cracked...and it said $5 on the cover.
Anyways, I feel really bad. My mom gives it to me and says "Have you played that one?"
Of course I have, woman, I thought. I have played it sooo many times it isn't funny. 5 years ago.

I lef the game on the table and went off to do some other nonsense. My mom saw it on the table and she came in to my room, to see me playing some new rom on my pc. She looked upset and she said "Wasn't that game I bought you any good?" I lied and said "Yes it is." She saw right through me and I could tell she was upset I wasn't playing Tomb Raider.

Truth is I am really sick of that game and I don't think much of Lara Croft in general. I don't really want to play it again, cos I would finish it straight away and throw it in the drawer. I heard her telling my dad about it, and he said to me later "Why have you upset your mother?"

Do I tell my mom the game was crap? Or do I play it with acted enthusiasm so that she thinks she has made me happy? I know she thinks she was being generous, but yeah..help me out.

Soul don't tell her it's crap. Just politely say, ya know mom i appreciate that you took my love of video games into consideration when buying my gift but to be honest i've already played and beaten this game. I didn't want to upset you cause i know you were really thinking about me when you picked this out and i love you for that.

And when you say that, say it with feeling...you've got to believe it before she will.:D
