Problem with adverts

So I look under Alerts to see if anyone has replied to one of my posts, then I click on the relevant thread title but often I get an full-page advert instead of the thread I've clicked on, as if I'm clicking on what's "underneath". It's annoying.

Anyone else?

Normally only the required one should (and is) opening.

There is 'show all' at bottom left, which should show all.

Please check your keys.

Thanks, that worked. I usually like to keep the number of open tabs to a minimum because I am easily confused, but maybe it's not a bad approach after all.

With practice, I'm cutting down on the numbrer of inadvertant full page ad pop-ups.
