Prospective President Kamala Harris

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Okay, you do not like her. Can you tell me why? And what parts of the Democratic platform do you disagree with? If it is just abortion remember that no one is forcing you to have one. And the Bible is not an anti-abortion source. It is an anti-sex source.
I don't care for her approach to the border situation. Remember, I am from Texas. It's not "just abortion" by the way, it's much more than that.

We Never Know

People are so hung up on the race and gender issues, but Obama won two terms despite his race. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote in 2016 despite her gender. Kamala Harris won as the VP in 2016 despite her gender. If Democrats keep talking about how difficult it is for a mixed race woman to win, and Republicans keep playing the gender and race cards, then that's the stupidest thing Democrats can do. So I'm pretty sure everyone (Democrats, Republicans, talking heads) will continue to focus on the two irrelevant factors of gender and race in Harris's background.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump continues to ramble incoherently at campaign rallies, the press reports it, and nobody bats an eye. He gets a pass, because that is Trump being Trump. At almost every rally, he brings up the shark story and Hannibal Lecter. If Joe Biden was too senile to run, what makes this guy so much better?

Why is Donald Trump so obsessed with Hannibal Lecter?

And he still confuses Kamala Harris with Nikki Haley, forgets words, and always goes on about Hannibal Lecter:

She didn't become VP in 2016. Simple error.

However her gender and race has been tagged on since at least 2016

"she defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election to become the second African-American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the U.S. Senate."

I would
What would you like to see on a party platform that you would vote for?
I would love to see us drill and become energy self sufficient.
I would love for us to bring inflation into normal limits.
I would love for abortion to be relegated to a morning after pill and also preferably for rape or incest or the actual life of the mother only. I want no part in supporting abortions for convenience only with my tax dollars.

How well do you know her? Or is this "opinion at a distance?"
I can't say why @Kathryn doesn't care for her, but I can say why I don't. My liking her or not, IMO, has nothing to do with her qualifications, however. I don't care for Hillary, nor Pelosi, but I think they were fabulous at their jobs, and I'm grateful for their service!

It's that perfect and constant grin. It feels fake. It looks "pageantity," sorority, Ivy League privileged. Something about Hillary and Pelosi runs the same, without the grin.

Let's face it, "presentation" matters more in this era for women as we're just beginning to level off in the equality plane. Three in the political eye that present as very relatable, IMO, are Amy Klobachar, Elaine Luria, and Stacey Abrams. Keep an eye out for them.

Trump lies. People on the right deny it.
Biden's mentality is poor. People on the left deny it.

What the **** is wrong with everyone. Are youns blind and deaf?

Get off excuses and get into reality.
I think the reality is that it doesn’t much matter who gets elected or which party dominates because it’s all political show and distraction…

“In other words, no matter who wins this next presidential election, you can rest assured that the new boss will be the same as the old boss, and we—the permanent underclass in America—will continue to be forced to march in lockstep with the police state in all matters, public and private.

Consider the following a much-needed reality check, an antidote if you will, against an overdose of overhyped campaign announcements, lofty electoral promises and meaningless patriotic sentiments that land us right back in the same prison cell.

FACT: According to a scientific study by Princeton researchers, the United States of America is not the democracy that it purports to be, but rather an oligarchy, in which “economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy.”

Do you not understand that drilling is not a solution to becoming energy self sufficient. Petroleum is a very limited resource. And worse yet it is grossly undertaxed. You have to know what AGW is a very real thing. It is only getting worse as we burn more fossil fuels. Once again we had a hottest day ever around the world just last Sunday. Okay, you are from Texas and just moved to Ohio so the heat that bothers locals does not bother you. But it is going to keep getting hotter no matter where you live. Energy independence is coming form solar and wind. And there is probably far more of it than you realize. If you are for energy independence you should be supporting the energy that will not run out and that does not have a disastrous effect on the environment.

That's a very defeatist attitude I can't get behind... Especially in the wake of Roe v Wade and how the "old boss" led to that being overturned

But since that's the way you look at things and the leader doesn't really matter, why vote for an adjudicated rapist? If the presidency doesn't matter, why give it to someone who's so morally bankrupt? What message does that send to the rest of the world?

Oh I am all for renewable energy sources like solar and wind. I just want the kinks worked out beforehand. And no, so far the heat doesn't bother me and I haven't even had to install a sprinkler system!

Wow. Looks and presentation, rather than substance. But only for women? Why not judge men the same way?

As you said, you don't care for Hillary or Pelosi, but they were fabulous at their jobs -- they just didn't have the right "presentation" for you.

I've been listening to every word Harris has been saying since she's taken over the campaign -- and not even because I can vote for her...I can't. She strikes me as knowledgeable, enthusiastic, responsible, caring.

Here's a suggestion -- turn the video off and just listen to her words. That might help you get past some of the surface prejudice you seem to be demonstrating.
