Prospective President Kamala Harris

Please go on about her policies! Let's discuss the issues! It would be much better than a simple dismissal of the issues by chanting "DEI Harris." (Is there anything lazier than that?) I promise not to play the racist/sexist card as long as you stick to the issues!
Ok, maybe I will start a thread and see how far I get before getting accused.

That is not a lie, it is an opinion that you disagree with. She believed Biden was and is fit to be President. I believe Biden is fit to be President.

Where is the lie?

Show me that Harris did not believe what she said. Show me personal private communications where she said something different than what she has said in public. Show me that this was a lie.

MAGA doesn't need proof. They have been taught in their churches to believe things WITHOUT proof.

What I care about is an existential choice.

Trump paints a dark and utterly paranoid picture of America through incessant lying. He celebrates lust, greed, anger, lying and the kind of pride that ALWAYS puts himself ahead of everyone and every thing else.

Harris draws a positive vision for America. She articulates the vision that motivated the Founders and powered Abraham Lincoln. She's not their equal and her vision is just that: an ideal. But with President Harris we take another step forward not backward.

I know in who's vineyard the "grapes of wrath are stored" - Donald Trump's vineyard.

And I'm going to quote someone who I share just about zero in common with from a political perspective. "It's morning in America again".

It is obvious it is a lie to all that had an objective look at Biden over the last year. She said he was fit to run, she had to know he was not, if not did they never interact? Trump believes the 2020 election was stolen yet I bet you call him a liar on that.

Trump went from being three years younger than his opponent in the upcoming election to being 19 years older.
What an impressive coup de gras this was. Biden's timing was impeccable. After month of the media hammering on Biden's age and cognitive decline, there is now only one candidate that that applies to. And doing this after the Trump chose Vance was also brilliant. He was chosen under the assumption that they would be running against Biden, not a strong, younger, woman of color. If they had known that, perhaps Haley or Tim Scott would have been chosen for the appearance of diversity on the ticket.

The media, who had been helping Trump with its harping on Biden's age and lapses, have now harmed Trump with all of that reporting against Biden, which now applies to the lone old man who rants about sharks, electrocutions, and "the late, great Hannibal Lecter," confuses people with one another, and falls asleep in court.

And do we remember that this is what happened in 2008? Limbaugh and the echo chamber had been hammering on Hillary for over a year when Obama eclipsed her and won the nomination. That spring, the Republicans began panicking that Hillary might not be the nominee, and Limbaugh was actually calling for Republicans to register as Democrats to vote for Hillary in primaries. From Rush Limbaugh Explains Why He's Urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to Vote for Hillary Clinton on Super Tuesday 2

Limbaugh: "Texas is open. And I want Hillary to stay in this, Laura. This is too good a soap opera. We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically, and it's obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it and don't have the stomach for it. As you probably know, we're getting all kinds of memos from the RNC saying not to be critical there. Mark MacKinnon of McCain's campaign says he'll quit if they get critical over Obama. This is the presidency of the United States you're talking about. I want our party to win. I want the Democrats to lose. They're in the midst of tearing themselves apart right now. It is fascinating to watch, and it's all going to stop if Hillary loses. So yes, I'm asking to cross over and, if they can stomach it — I know it's a difficult thing to do to vote for a Clinton — but it will sustain this soap opera, and it's something I think we need."

Of course, they tried to trash Obama beginning then (Reverend Wright, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Muslim, birth certificate, teleprompter, cult of celebrity, etc.), but it was too little, too late. He wouldn't be fully trashed until after being elected and well into his first term.

This is an awful lot like that was, and the panic from the Republicans is palpable. This was a remarkably smooth passing of the baton, and the Democrats have quickly come together in support of Kamala. Now, the Democrats appear united behind a younger, articulate firebrand of a candidate and former prosecutor of sex offenders and fraudsters, and the Republicans appear to have been caught with their pants down running the old, infirm candidate with felony convictions and upcoming trials and whose running mate is also a bigot and enemy of women's reproductive freedom in a year when abortion is going to be a wedge issue for the Democrats and which will mobilize pro-choice voters.

From Kamala's first speech as the presumptive nominee in reference to her career as a prosecutor: “I know Donald Trump’s type.”

the central question posed being: "But do Americans share enough disgust over Trump this year to forget their traditional misogyny when it comes to the top job?"
Most "traditional misogynists" are already in the Trump camp. And that's not going to get him elected. The few that are not in his camp already will be far outnumbered by the females that are in Trump's camp that will defect to help elect the first woman president. And this will also help get out the vote from women in the middle AND on the left.

Bottom line, the female empowerment vote for Harris will far outstrip the misogyny vote for Trump. And especially so after Trump stacked the court and ended Roe v Wade, and is causing women severe danger and hardship now in a number of the more backward states.

Biden handing the race over to Harris was the smartest thing the democrats could have done. In fact, they should have been "grooming" her for this in the media the last four years for just this eventuality. But no one will ever accuse the democrats in office of being politically savvy.
We can expect more than enough sexist and misogynistic attacks (here as well as elsewhere) against "DEI Harris." Let's hope that this serves only to amplify the breadth and depth of the disgust over the MAGA-Project 2025 team.
Let the misogynists run their mouths. It will only drive more women (and men) to vote for Harris. It's not going to work like it did with Hillary.

Agree 100%. Well said!

Would like to add here that I was on the other side of the aisle in 2008, I was fully immersed in the conservative bubble, and remember well how things went down with the Hillary and Obama conspiracies. I'm mbarrassed now, looking back, that I was as gullible as I was, although I'm not surprised, considering my environment. I'm actually quite grateful I was able (with help) to step outside that bubble and see it clearly for what it was. But if anyone doubts the extent to how they went for Hillary and Obama, I'm here to say I was there, and yes, they did that. All of that.

She has been saying for years and even as late as July 5th that Biden is fit for office. That he gets more done in an hour than most get done in a day. Conservatives have been pointing the obvious out for a while now. The debate was a surprise to democrats but not to republicans because your leaders and media lied to you about his condition. It is a big cover-up.
But it was the Dems who pressured him to resign.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe the dems were smarter than I gave them credit for. By keeping Harris out of the media spotlight they kept her away from the endless smearing and slandering of the right wing media machine. Now, with only a few months to go before the election, they will look hopelessly biased and dishonest when they suddenly start trying to smear her with anything and everything they can concoct. Everyone will see it for the toxic self-serving BS that it is.

He IS fit to serve, however, his party loss confidence in him. It's that simple, and that complicated that the political parties have that much power, but they do. That's the primary reason Trump is viewed as dangerous -- his party is in full support. All that could not in good conscience go against their party in order to oust Trump has left politics all together. That would be scary even if Trump's platform was moderate. We're suppose to rely on checks and balances within, not just roll over and accept what's before us.

Trumps agenda is the moderate agenda. The dem platform is radical. It has been obvious for a while and at the debate he is not fit for office.
