Trump now represents the spearhead of a violent and arguably treasonous trend. If you don't think supporting him despite this warrants "punishment," maybe you need to reconsider your priorities before playing the victim card.

Trump's fanatic supporters are now being "canceled" before they can cancel everyone else with violent foolishness.

Entertainers have a problem with doing things that
tarnish their image...demand for them dries up.
Kneeling football players, singers, actors, etc
might find less employment. It's the market.

The left has been radicalized and don't realize it yet. They are left wingers but not liberals in the classic sense. You can tell them but they aren't likely to listen. I guess they don't see it. They've become more intolerant than the "intolerance" they claim to be against.

Really both sides need to tone down the rhetoric. You have right wingers who make jokes about and reenact death of people by police (admittedly not many of them but some do) and you have left wingers happy a woman got shot in DC and making jokes about that on twitter. So hatred is really getting out of hand. This country can't continue to exist if this polarization continues.

The news is to blame for much of this nonsense.

I'd like Trump supporters to be banned from social media. I'd also like Biden by executive order to ban Trump himself on owning any social media.

Is this a thing in the US? It's done in the UK before games. No-one's leaving clubs because of it. The only issue that has been raised by it has been responses to some racist abuse.

Well your profile picture says it all. You have a lot in common with Stalin or Lenin. I don't think it's any surprise you want dissenting political views silenced.

Communists are not liberals. They're left wing but not liberal. Liberals support freedom of speech, freedom of expression and even voicing of opinions different than their own.

But what's funny about you modern communists is that you are completely lock step in line with these corporations like fakebook and twitter. It's basically fascism when a socialist government is hand in glove with mega corporations in an attempt to control information and it's dispersion.

Actions have consequences. That isn't "bias". That's just the way it is. And probably as it should be.

I do not think someone should be fired simply for attending a political rally, even if that rally was to support an orange goblin like Trump.

On the other hand, as Revoltingest noted, part of your right to free speech is the right that the rest of us have to disagree with it. When people disagree with what you stand for they may not want to produce your music or buy your next album. That’s the nature of the entertainment industry and that’s also a form of free speech.

People have the right of free speech but other people also have the right of free association. And remember as Romney once said, “corporations are people my friend”.

Bigotry against people who align themselves with a political ideology isn't the same as bigotry against people who are born a certain way such as their race, their sex, or their sexual orientation, imo. I can take the trump/biden sticker off of my bumper, but I can't take my skin color off.

That said, things are divisive and they aren't looking to let up any time soon. I know you blame the media (which has played it's part), but how much do you feel trump is to blame for this? Do you think it would have gotten this bad if hillary were president? Would CHOP have happened? What about the capital insurrection?

Okay that I disagree with, unless they were doing something illegal, one shouldn’t lose their job over a protest attendance. But that has nothing to do with politics, that’s capitalism in action. If a company thinks your actions will reflect poorly on their public image, they will take action to protect their profits. Your political affiliations be damned.
