Is Hell exothermic or endothermic?

Hell from an engineering approach
The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington engineering mid term. The answer was so profound that the Professor shared it with colleagues, which is why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or Endothermic (absorbs heat)?

"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave.

Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:

If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa Banyan during my Freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you." and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then, #2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze."

" revelation 21:8 "

The above verse " revelation 21:8" has not been colored in red in the following Red Letter Bibles:

Holy Bible King James Version (Red Letter Edition)
The Roman Catholic Holy Bible with the words of Jesus in red.

and it means neither (Jesus) Yeshua- the Israelite Messiah, spoke it nor authored it nor wrote it and , therefore, it is not a reliable source for guidance in ethical, moral and or spiritual matters for one who loves Yeshua, it transpires. Right?
Won't it mislead the people away from the path Yeshua followed, please? Right?

Just interpret it however you like, to emotionally satisfy yourself. That's what everyone else does. No one can gainsay your particular interpretation, since there is no objective way to confirm whose interpretation is actually correct.

I've read that story, only in that version hell is endothermic as the author did score with Teresa.
I suspect political correctness having ret-coned the story.

It depends how literally you want to take the term 'second death'. Traditional Christianity teaches the immortality of the soul, so at least in that tradition, terms such as the 'second death' have not been read as implying the soul's annihilation but rather the soul's eternal loss of God.

Assumptions, most of the time are wrong. The student did not know about Hinduism where not all souls come to hell, some go directly to heaven; and 99% of the souls that go to hell get a chance again and are reincarnated. Of course, a minuscule, remain in hell for all the time due to their extreme crimes. So, yes, the net effect is increase in number of souls in hell. Now the question if hell is expanding, contracting or is static, we have no information on that. Perhaps James Webb telescope or CERN will give us some new information. Teresa Bunyan has made a statement but has she given any evidence? So you continue your efforts and do not be disheartened by what she declares. Perseverance is said to pay.
